Ok so according to the tracking number my packet is in the USCIS Nebraska Center PO Box. Now what? NOA1 is comes after they start processing it or just to let me know they got it? Will my check be cashed before that or will I get the NOA1 before the check....I am getting excited and want to know. I know that I can get my case number off the check after they cash it so I will see that first and not the NOA1? Sorry just want to know getting excited :bounce::bleh::wave:

Angela -

NVC doesnt actually process the I130s. We have to send them there because of the jurisdiction. They will forward it to California, who will then cash the check, send your NOA1.

I don't know exactly how long the transfer process really takes - but our NOA1 was dated 17 days after we mailed the packet. We also sent it to NSC and it was forwarded to CSC. I think the times have sped up - but you still have a little bit to wait before getting the NOA.

You check should be cashed before you actually receive the notice in the mail. Ours was only 3 days apart though.

Hope that helped a little!!

Thanks!! Now I understand why you can only chck the processing times for I-130 in California. I kept looking at nebraska, but they didn't have it. I am kind of sad they are only working on December so Seven months until approval of I-130 and 10 - 12 months after that for CDJ interview ok now the waiting game......

I actually mis-typed in my last post - I tried correcting but my computer crashed before I got to. I wrote that NVC doesnt process the packet...You must not have caught that - but I meant to put NSC - nebraska service center, not National Visa Center.

All of these acronyms.....

They are not really working on December 2006. When they are processing petitions within their guidlines of compliancy - they put that they are working on the LATEST dated petition. In reality - according to the visa journey website, their current processing times have ranged between 120-130 days. Visa Journey compiles timelines from everyone on their site to provide "rough estimates" of processing times. Hopefully none of us have to wait 7 months - but 3-4 months instead.

VJ reported that times jumped up to 160 days or something today - but on average - over the last month - they average 123 days or so. It could be a fluke for today - if one person's time was extremely long or something....I check everyday - so hopefully tomorrow it will go back down.

Oh that is good. I was not very happy with a 7 - 8 month wait for the I-130 approval, but you have to wait for them. I hope we all get the I-130 done soon.

Also - if you register on that site and enter your own timeline - they will give you a rough estimate of when your petition would be approved. For example ..for the last month - it said that I could expect an approval around Oct. 8. (today it jumped to Nov 13, but I am hoping that is a fluke) I know it is an estimate - and times could really be shorter...or longer....but if you are like me - it makes the wait a little more exciting...having some sort of date to look forward too.

I know one member who's actual approval was only 3-4 days different from what VJ reported.

That is cool I never noticed that. Mine says Nov 5, but that is weird because you sent yours two months before I did....I guess it's all about what people put in their timelines and what they come up with at that time. I think your's is just a fluke.

Did you list Nebraska or California as your service center?

I asked a question there once - about why they have Nebraska listed on their 'chart of processing times' for the I130. They list all 4 - and I know that they are only really processed at NSC and CSC. So, i wanted to know what to list mine as in my timeline. To be more accurate. No one ever responded, so I left it at CSC - but am still pretty curious - as I see that their timelines are pretty different. Nebraska is listed at like 95 days or something.....

Still bummed out that CSC is listed at 160 days today. That puts us back almost a month, if I should really go by that service center, and not Nebraska.

:ditto:

I hope you guys hear something soon. Atleast with a receipt number you can sign up for email alerts on the USCIS page and track your case. I check it about once a week to see if it has atleast been 'touched'.

epm - are you filing in country? I thought there were only 4 service centers to send your petitions too - and I don't recall one being in Chicago. I could be wrong, but I know they are in Nebraska, Vermont, Texas and California. Did you send it to a local office - and they are going to forward it?

The address for filing is different when filing a concurrent I-130 with the I-485 to adjust status to that of a permanent resident. I-130 is only filed with one of the service centers when you will be applying for a visa at a consulate abroad.

As per the instructions on the I-485

Aliens who are immediate relatives of a U.S. citizen, as defined by section 201(b) of the Act, and are filing based upon an approved, concurrently filed, or pending Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative;

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
P.O. Box 805887
Chicago, IL 60680-4120

Gotcha aussiewench. Thank you for the clarification. I can see now on her timeline - that her husband did enter on a visa....(which I know then that they can adjust in the US and not have to do it abroad) I still didnt know about the Chicago office though....Thanks again.

Angela, I'm feeling just as impatient about all of your cases as you are, and I havent even filed yet! Can't imagine how much more impatient I will be when I actually file.

Yes I check everyday.

Lucky - Even with the dates going lower the timeline shows now I will be approved in Feb. I know that it is just a guess, but you know how frustrating that is. AHHH!

Angela, it took a YEAR for my I-130 to be approved. It was right before they started sending them all through California, so ours was in Vermont and they were veryyyyy slowww. I would check and cry all the freaking time. Luckily we didn't have internet in our apartment, so I couldn't obsess, only once or twice a week when we were visiting my parents!
I didn't know about filing the I-129F until June or so, about 6 months into the I-130 wait, but that was approved before the I-130, then we had our first appointment in January (had to bump it to February). Mu husband had his first appointment, I came home Feb. 2, and I got the approval for the I130 two weeks later! LOLOLOL I still think that's hilarious.

See now, had all gone well, we would have adjusted and gotten the good visa by early spring '08:cry::cry::cry::cry:! Dang it. Well, I'll keep the stinkin file open for the next three years... and then see!

Are you planning to file the I129?

angela256z
07-24-2007, 10:46 PM
I don't want to file the I-129F. It's to much money. I mean I have the money, but right now we can play the waiting game we are ok with that, but if he were in Mexico I would file it. It's only been a week and it seems like forever. I want my check cashed so I can see the case number.

Angela - I know what you mean about the times ... before this crazy jump - our estimated date was like Oct. 8-11 (varied depending the day I looked at it....) and today when I checked it listed DECEMBER 28....what the *#&@!!! That is way more than the 35 days or so that the processing times jumped.

I know I can't obsess over it - this impatience is killin me though!!
