Has anyone ever had to go thru Bangkok to get these two waivers approved, if so could you provide me any information on how the process takes place and how long? My husband is an Aussie, we have been married 5 years, on 11/6/06 at our I-485 appt he was arrested, detained and eventually sent back to Australia. "Long Story" anyways he went to his visa appt. on July 11and we are now in the Bangkok process. They have not received his forms yet so I cannot get any info from them. We have an approved I-130 and his approved I-129 expires on 9/11/07. I am very worried that Bangkok will not approve in time. I also have an expedite letter from senator for the waivers.
Any information or help would be greatly appreciated...so glad I signed up, wish I would have done this a long time ago. Thanks!

MOVED to I-601 - All Other Countries. Thread posted at I-601 Timelines.
Please do not post questions in I-601 Timelines as that's JUST for Timelines.
Thank you.
Hi there, we have had several members go through Bangkok with one or both waivers. It is known as being a tough office to get approved through, but I believe that it is because it is difficult to prove hardship in moving to Australia, where opportunities for a good life are plentiful (versus other third-world countries). That said, there have been many approvals, and in almost every case (except 1, I think), the decisions have been extremely fast (2-6 weeks). If you didn't submit a very strong and well-documented letter, notify them immediately that you have additional evidence that you will be submitting to them directly. Otherwise, just relax and you should have a decision soon.

we did submit what we think is a very strong package, including a letter from congressman crenshaws office requesting expidite
its based on medical hardship
i have heard that if you apply on medical grounds,it gets sent to WRD medical revue.
Is this true?
anyone?

I don't think so, I think its only submitted for review when the waiver itself is for medical grounds (intending immigrant has some sort of medical issue). If its the petitioner, the documentation you provide should be sufficient. But, I'm not 100% sure of that (maybe 95%) :D
