They (the inlaws) have to apply. Probably at the Mexico City consulate??
That is where our went. It is about $100.

They will have to show concrete proof that they have intentions of returning to mexico after their stay here in the US.

Bank accounts, land, home, family, etc.

Hard to say. But for $100, I say it can't hurt to try.

I would also say go for it. If they can show solid proof that they must return to Mexico they will most likely grant them the visa.

The best they can do is deny them. I think if you go to the Mexico City consulate website there is a precentage of approval....I could have saw that somewhere else those too.

Theresa, what part in Mexico do they live? I had been investigating on this for my in-laws, and can provide you the US consulate's website in Mexico (I was looking at Guadalajara).

It is about $100.

Actually, as of Jan 2008, the fee will go up to $131 (30% increase).
Here's the website to the US consulate in Mexico DF: http://www.usembassy-mexico.gov/smxvisitar.html

$131? 30%? Isn't $131 a 31% increase....

Should have guessed that it would increase. Stuff rate increases.
