Our Timeline

Denied Visa November 9th because of my overstay of 2 years
Mailed i-601 December 4th
Received post card this morning to say they had received it on December 13th
Phone Call from US Embassy, London TODAY (December 18th) MY VISA IS APPROVED - 14 days!!!!!!!

woooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooo what a great Christmas Present.....

Hoping to be in the US early February.

wow that's awesome!!!!! I will also be going through London so that makes my smile even bigger! What state did u initially file in? And if you haven't already would you mind posting ur hardship letter?

OH WOW! Are you for real? How lucky! I mailed mine in October 2007, got postcard 1st week of Nov., Still haven't heard from them. :innocent: Matter of Luck I assume! Congrats to ya!

We DCF'd in London and we didn't use a lawyer... but my father-in-law did contact a Georgia State Representative to ask for his help.... I guess it worked because it took only 13 days from mailing the I-601 to getting the approval....

My Actual Timeline for the London DCF and I-601 is:

Mailed I-130 - May 10th
Received NOA - July 4th (nice date)
Received Packet 3 - July 6th
Mailed DS-230 part 1 mailed to Immigrant Visa Branch - July 9th (Special Delivery)
Application for Police Certificate sent - July 9th
DS-230 part 1 Received by Embassy - July 10th
Received Police Certificate from Jersey CI - July 12th
Medical Appointment - August 8th (think I passed lol)
Received Police Certificate from Scotland Yard - August 11th
Mailed Checklist - September 10th
Received Interview date September 27th
Interview - November 9th DENIED
Mailed I-601 December 4th
Approved December 17th
Received telephone call from Embassy on December 18th
Approval in Mail December 19th

a question, it looks like you had to obtain a police certificate from the U.S. since you lived there, I thought the embassy just did a background check while you were at the embassy? I grew up in the U.S. illegally so I don't know if they would even have me in their records

No I didn't have to get a police certificate from the US. They do it automatically I think.... I put down the addresses I stayed at in the US.
