hello, I am wondering if theres anyone here who already petitioned for their unmarried son or daughter over 21? how many years is the waiting period? I really want to know because I am planning to apply for my 2 sons but I am only a greencard holder (immigrant), I heard that it will take a long time if I am not a citizen.
Pls. repply if anyone here knows the answer to my question. Thank you .:confused1::dontgetit:

I'm sorry, yes, you are in for a long wait. See the August Visa Bulletin (http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_3269.html)

It will take many years as a LPR. When will you become a citizen? It will make the process much shorter...by years.

Can be longer for Citizens...
But that assumes the current time lines remain constant.
The Buletin linked above will keep you updated. Only use as a guide as it tells you how long people coming to the front of the line have waited.

Carmona - what service center would you apply for I-130 for?
You can investigate processing times here (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?autocom=custom&page=times)

Which country are you from? It depends where you're from.. If youre not from the Philippines then being a citizen is faster but if you are, start the application... However, it will take you years.. and i mean min 8yrs of wait...

I am a Canadian Native American and received my green card in May 2005. I applied for the I-130 for my unmarried son over the age of 21 in July 2008 and just got it approved today (Sept 20, 2008.

Welcome!
2B category is a long wait. I'm still in wait process but unfortunately I had to leave United States. Better late then never, right!!! Good Luck!!
