So would it be best for us to go ahead and apply or should we wait until all of the waiver problems clear?? I have heard a lot of stories from wives of illegal immigrants saying they were denied. So what would be the best for us??

What are you referring to when you say "all of the waiver problems clear"
Also, this forum entitled "Suggestions/Problemns" is specifically in regard to suggestions/problems with this website. You will get more responses if you post your question in the 601 Waiver forum.

Well, the vast majority of couples who were not able to return to the US were not eligible to file waivers in the first place. You can easily determine whether or not you will be eligible by reading the EWI sticky in the I-601 Mexico forum.
If you are eligible, you will need a strong HSL. Many people here can help you put one together. Very few people who found this site and posted their letters here ahead of time and made edits based on recommendations have been denied. And almost all those that were denied were able to get a new appointment, submit a new HSL and eventually get an approval.
But there have been those that have been denied and in the end you do ave to weigh that against the benefits of legalization. If I had to make the choice again, I would do it 1000 times.
You are filing through Mexico, right? You might want to consider using Laurel Scott as your attorney. She has expensive rates (but also a payment plan I think) and a 100% success rate for waivers filed in Mexico. Maybe you could just wait til you have saved enough to get started with her....
But if you don't think you'll ever be able to afford an attorney know that many members, myself included, have been approved with no attorney, no children and no serious medical issues. CDJ has the highest approval rate in the world and with the Pilot Program, you have an excellent chance of never being separated.
Consider your options- but I would not wait for the laws to change, there is NO indication that is anywhere in the near future. If anything, I think they may change for the worse.
Good luck in your decision. We'll be here to help whatever choice you make.
