If you have your timeline created in a separate thread - click on edit signature (under user CP)
It will work if you have two windows open - one with to edit signature and the other for the thread that has your timeline - highlight and copy that url from the top of your screen.
Now - back on your signature page - click on the little blue globe with the small symbol under it (it is for inserting a link)
It will open a new window where you will paste the URL from the thread of your timeline that you copied earlier. I usually delete the http:// that automatically appears there so that it doesnt get duplicated when you paste the link you copied.
click ok - and then your link will show - along with a highlighted duplicate of your link. Don't hit enter or anything - just start typing what you want your link to read - for example "my timeline" or something. You will be typing what you want it to read right over the blue text.
From there - I think you can hit enter - and just save your new signature.
I hope that works - I explained it off of the top of my head - let me know if you have problems.

OK, here's what I would do:
1) post your timeline as a new thread in this forum (http://immigrate2us.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=16) (the 601 timelines forum)
2) Now go back and make sure you're looking at that timeline post you just made, and then look at the address bar on top of your browser. It should look something like "http://immigrate2us.net/forum/showthread.php?p=73498#post111111".
3) Highlight and copy everything in the address bar except for the "http://".
4) Go in to edit your signature, write some text where you want the link ("My Timeline")
5) Highlight this and push that little blue globe icon with the paperclip on top. Here you will paste the link you just copied in step 3. Make sure it still says "http://" at the beginning after you paste. If not, add that part back.
6) Push OK and you should be all set!
