Which motion do i need to fill out?

I have another question. Lets say i've been in the united states for 2 months and i want to stay here for work and school. What steps do i need to take if i'm ALREADY here. Or, what forms do i need to fill out and in what order? Do i have to leave the US to get my green card? Has anyone immigrated from Canada like this? I know i need to speak with an immigration lawyer but i can't afford one right now. Any help is appreciated.
