Flying with Foreign Passport/Student ID

Quick question for someone to see if this is going to be a problem. Its Rose Bowl time and lets say hypothetically that one is illegally present in the country and only has a student ID and a current foreign passport.

Is there any risk of getting deported or anything flying from O'hare-LAX?

For domestic flights, security is only looking to match the name on the ticket to the name on the ID. Student ID is unlikely to be sufficient. Passport is fine. They'll look at the photo page - nothing more. Of course, it's always risky to fly, period, when you are not legal. But then again, it's risky to be out and about.
