Here is my husbands apology letter for EWI, please tell me what you think. Thanks!! He would like me to add something about my oldest daughter (who is his step daughter) because he has raised her since she was 2 (she is now 13)!!
I would like to take a moment to apologize for my actions. When I entered into the United States for the first time I was a 16 year old boy. I came to the United States looking for the “American Dream”, a better quality of life so that I would be able to help my mom (she is my biological grandmother but I call her mama because she is who raised me) and take care of her better. When I came I began working as a day laborer, I was in the heat picking watermelon and okra. I was in the heat and the cold but that did not bother me because I wanted to help my family in Honduras. I ended up being removed from the US in 1994. When I got back to Honduras, my family was happy to see me and I was happy to see them also but the situation in Honduras was not good. I was not able to find work. I them came back to the United States. When I came back I settled in XX, Florida. During this time I started painting and became a painter. I met my wife, XXX and began dating. During our years as boyfriend and girlfriend we became pregnant. We had a daughter, XXX in February of 2001. In April of 2001 we got married and started working on my immigration process. During this time, I started a company and things were going really well. I was sent back to Honduras in 2006. I am a hard working man that misses his family deeply. I was living my “American Dream”. I have a beautiful family that I was supporting in the United States and also helping my family back in Honduras.
The time that I have been away from my family has been so horrendous for me. I miss my wife and kids so much. It hurts me when I am on the phone with them and they cry for me or ask when an I coming home. And to have to tell them I do not know is the hardest thing that I have had to do.
I would like to apologize for my actions in the past and ask that you please forgive me so that I can please be reunited with my family and continue my life with them as a family.
