I received news from my lawyer that the government lawyers agreed to join in motion to reopen our case~~ Praise god! This is 2.5 years in the making. My lawyer cautioned us that this doesn't mean we're done yet... as we still need to see the judge(he always manages to bring us back down to earth). Can someone who has gone through the JMTR in the past share their wisdom? How long does it usually take them to set up the master hearing date? What happens at the master hearing and what do I need to prepare for the court? and what is the role of the government lawyer? since they agreed to reopen our case, does this mean they are "for" granting AOS and will work with us to convince the judge? Thank you guys in advance...

I dont know that they had a hearing as far as I know one person just reviewed the new information that I entered to help prove hardship. If you get a Senator to expediate you case it can go fast. I was denied on Sept 7the and the MTR was approved Nov 6th. My Senators office called to let me know. I got the approval letter four days later and the open apointment letter faxed to me a few days after that. I guess I filed a Motion to Reconsider but my attorney wrote it like Motion to Reconsider/reopen. I dont know what the difference is. I just sent in a second packet of hardship and proof of my new job. I wrote a new letter and got some 20 letters from friends, family, co-workers, teachers just everyone that I could think of. My attorey sent in a brief.
