On June 7th, we had our interview at the US Embassy in Honduras w/ the Consul. There we were notified that b/c of husband's illegal entry, he was banned for 10 years but we qualified for the I160. I had already prepared the I160 prior to the interview but we decided to wait until the fingerprint check came back and then we turned in the I160 packet on June 14th 2007. This Friday, November 23rd, 2007 my husband received a call saying that he could come to the Consulate Office and to bring his passport. My question is:
Are there any additional fees involved?
Will he be receiving his visa to travel then?
Will he be receiving the "green" card then or in the US?
Will we need to wait any additional time?
If anyone knows what happens once I160 is approved, please let me know.
Thanks,
Maria:wave:

Maria, congrats...:)
There shouldn't be anymore fees. But bring extra just in case.
The passport is the for the visa stamp or card so (diff. consulates differs), he can travel home to the US anytime.
Greencard will arrive 30-90days AFTER he arrives in the US and not BEFORE. Hubby will receive the Welcome Letters too.

Thank you soooooo much.
Also, I was trying to "Pay it forward" by posting my I160 letter on the forum...but it says it is closed. Do you know what I need to do?

Please, please keep us updated. If you haven't been reading our other Honduras thread, my husband and I had our interview at the end of May and they received our 601 June 15, so they should be getting to his case soon if you've got an approval already. Please give us updates after he goes in!

Congratulations, It's good seeing a approval in Honduras. Thernand may be able to give you some answers, since she is the only other person I know who has had an approval from TGU.

Hey Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband didn't have to do anything or pay anything when he went to do his visa pick-up. He walked in at the time that they told him and dropped off his passport and they told him to come back at 3 or 4 that same afternoon to pick it up. Gave him a little card to get back into the embassy and all was well. He came back later that day and picked it up. He did not have to have an appt. or anything at all just showed up and got it done. There was one day that he couldn't come in and I think that was Wednesday but I'm not sure.
Anyway, Congrats. And have a wonderful life together.

We have a daughter with special needs so perhaps that is the reason why our waiver was approved sooner (5 months+ from interview). She was 3 months premature and had lots of problems (was in NICU for 3 months), etc. and requires physical therapy, cognitive therapy, speech therapy. She is now 2 and I have a 1 year old boy too. I see that you have a baby too so that definitely helps. I'll pray for you.
I remember the lady at the US Embassy, she was very nice to us, told us, Be patient. Her husband had died and she had 3 kids, and it took a long time (11 years) before she found someone wonderful. The thought that I probably wasn't going to have to wait that long kept me going. I know it's tough, day by day, but once he's back, these hard times will be like a dream.
Be strong!!!

So is your husband back here with you now? Your situation is different from mine because of your daughter, but I still thought they would take the cases in order no matter what, unless your case was expedited due to a life or death situation. We are just hoping every day that it's the day they will be calling. Is that what they did in your case? did they call your hubby in Honduras? How did he find out?

Congrats...good luck and best wishes..
Congratulations, my son-in-law and Grandson will be arriving in Kansas City this evening 12-13 at 10:30 after his waiver approval on Monday, This is great news I see what they mean about two in the same week now. My son-in-law said he went in on Monday at 10am they asked him to come back at 4:30, he did then they ask him to come back on Tuesday at 10am, he said it wasn't a run around just that they were very busy there. I understand how excited you are, my daughter and children are so happy.
Good luck to you.
My son-in-law and grandson are from San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
