So I'm getting a passport for my son so we can go visit my husband this coming New Year. However, it states:
Statement of Consent: Issuance of a Passport to a Minor Under Age 14: DS-3053
This form should be notarized and submitted, along with the DS-11 Application for Passport, for minors under age 14 as evidence of parental permission if:
You are a non-applying parent or guardian consenting to passport issuance for your child, or
You are an applying parent or guardian, and the written consent of the non-applying parent or guardian cannot be obtained.
Now since my hubby is not here and I need to get this done right away what should I say in the Continuation of Satement of Special Circumstances? That my husband is currently in the immigration process to adjust his status and has been in Mexico for XX years and we're getting the passport so that my son can see him?
Now I could just forge my hubby's signature and get it notarized but I think I don't want to screw around with this one and I better do it the right now.
Any help would be appreciated. Oh and should I get some kind of letter from my lawyer backing up what I've said?
