Hi,

I have filed the I-601 for my husband with Montreal and it is currently being processed in Vermont. I just got notified that they need additonal information/evidence before they can proceed with a decision. Has this happened to anyone? If so, what information/evidence did they want.:dunno:

they need additional "extreme hardship" to the USC (which is you), so basically they are requesting that you submit more evidence.

someone will help you with additional stuff you can submit ..

good luck

It seems to me that this happens to most members who file through Montreal. I know of at least one member who sent their complete file two or three times and the last time they sent it bound as a book. I am sorry to say that this is not the easiest group to work with. You will have to follow their requests and have a ton of patience. If I were you I would get any and all of your elected federal officials involved in your case asap and see if they can assist you.

Kenaly will hopefully chime in for you soon. She filed through there and may be able to offer some information for you.

Reyentejana got an RFE (she was approved) and charmac also had an RFE (denied). You should receive a letter regarding the additional information they require. Slubbery also had an RFE (approved), so don't freak out too much. Usually it is just additonal information regarding your hardships.

it happened to me , but in my case was in buenos aires,i did not received this request from the office in lima ( the one in charge of south america), but from the embassy and it was like two or three day after we left all the documents for the waiver, they made a phone call to my wife and thats what we did , they were very polite all the time and they even gave us some advice about what to get. i must say that the attention toward our case by the embassy was exellent . regardles the outcome of our waiver wich is close to the six month now. at the embassy they were very profesional . i dont know how montreal handles this, any way i wish you good luck

Thanks for the information. I will post again when I get the actual letter and I know what they want. I have already spoken with one of my senators but they were not helpful. His aid said that they can only help with extreme cases, but I can try them again in a year to make sure that Vermont still has my file.
