I had the greatest experience this morning... without going into much detail, lets just say I feel light and clean :D
I have been eating wheat thins the fiber kind... and these new fiber one bars.. they are very yummy and I had a coupon (they are kind of pricey) but then I just bought the store brand and they taste the same and are like 1.50 less!!
The bars especially are kind of hard to chew, so it takes more work to eat and you feel full, like you have just eaten this big crunchy meal :)
I highly recommend fiber!! Especially if you ever get digestive issues like I was having a few weeks ago....

I always have digestive issues, doctoir says she thinks I have IBS... told me to stock up on the fiber and take a stool softener if I don't want to do the Zelnorm. I am not much for prescription medications because of all the side effects, so fiber sounds great!!! So you are eating Fiber Wheat Thins? I might have to look for those at the store... hmmmmmmm...

I love FiberOne bars and I got a sample of their cereal and its also pretty good. I have a bar every day before going to the gym. I like the chocolate and the peanut butter ones.

the kellogs brand..fiberplus I think, is not as yummy as the fiber one!! got some on sale this past weekend... they taste to much like honey
I am taking bentonite (sp) clay right now too... so far so good, as soon as I took it I felt my intestines get tense, but not painful...and when I went to the restroom, by the smell of things, I am pretty sure the toxins are being eliminated!! yay... I will let you know how my little experiment goes.. (homemade colon cleanse)... but caution, I don't have a hard time going to the bathroom... I think the clay can potentially constipate people

Does the clay taste gross? Also are you mixing in the psyllium with it? The psyllium helps with constipation.

Im not consto though... We always throw psyllium (call it husk at my house) in all of our food (probablly why I am not constopated)
The clay is not nasty, it tastes like nothing. I just had some yesterday at 5 and I knocked out until 9! Then this morning when I got my son out to school I had another tablespoon and I knocked out until 12:30! I read that you can take it with applesauce. but since we have none, I just mixed it with water..
Have you ever tried epson salt? I heard that is really good too! It's like an enema, only you drink it. It makes you lightheaded so you should do it on a day you have nothing to do. but I guess it makes you go, go and go some more!!

April, Im trying to do a homemade one... right now I am drinking a tablespoon of bentonite clay... I am still doing research on how to make a colon cleanse though... you can also buy one, they can be pretty expensive though, but I have heard they are effective!
I would say baby steps... start by adding fiber to your diet every day!! wheat thins really did it for me and the vegetable ones are delicous.. so are fiberone bars!

I will try the wheat thins. Where do you get the bentonite clay at?
I'm not on here much but today I was on here reading and came across this post, and I feel the need to intervene here. It is good everyone wants to keep things running smoothly in their pipes, but you have to be careful with doing 'colon cleanses'. Your body does this naturally and doesn't need any more help then adding fiber rich foods into your diet and laying off the processed foods.
Doing enemas, colon cleanses, for extended times causes you to not absorb some vitamins and minerals, so you might be doing more harm than good to your body.
The best thing is to drink enough water, drink green tea (natural diuretic so your not retaining water), lay off the salt, processed foods, and incorporate fiber rich foods such as veggies, fruits, whole grain bread & pasta, rice, etc. In addition, when you need extra help eat a couple prunes and it will make you go.

I will try the wheat thins. Where do you get the bentonite clay at?
I bought it at a health store here in town. It was this kind here (http://www.vitacost.com/productResults.aspx?ss=1&Ntk=products&csrc=SITEREF-linkshare&Ntt=bentonite) and it cost us 15$. I guess online it's a little cheaper. (the first kind April, yerba prima). <<<---- The clay is not like a laxative though, it won't make you go. It is supposed to absorb toxins from your body, and it does, it worked for me :D It is however, a first step to getting regular...good luck
Prunes give me gas, prune juice is okay though. I understand the colon cleanses naturally but I have put so many unnatural things in my body that I feel comfortable giving my colon a hand in cleansing. I am going to make my own with natural products like Psyllium, Flax Seed, Bentonite Clay, Cayenne and organic maple syrup. All of these are natural foods that are harmless and the clay is a mineral. Obviously if my belly hurts or I feel weird I will stop.
My husband takes oatmeal with flaxseed and/or husk every day and poos on a schedule! I throw it in my food when I remember, and we are big on fruit and veggies (with small kids, you know, gotta have fruit) and that is why I am not irregular, as soon as I am, I notice and take action.

if you feel you need fiber eat beans. they are a far better for you than wheat thins. here is a whole list.
http://www.wehealny.org/healthinfo/dietaryfiber/fibercontentchart.html
wheat thins is 5g for 1 serving. 15 crackers and 120 calories.
1/2 cup blackberries is 5g only 55 calories.
1 cup lima beans is 18,8 g and 155 calories.
i dont know about anyone else but i kind of like beans.

I eat beans several times a week and I would thing I would be mroe regular - but I think its just my jacked up metabolism or lack of exercise before - I'm making it better with exercise and can really see a diff.
