I need help/advice. I have started the process for my husband, I filed I-130 and the last correspondence I got was a letter stating that my case had been tranfered to the Omaha, NE, Center (i think that is what it's called) I am at work right now, but I have that at home. Anyway so that was August 26, 2008. I checked w/ the attorney whom advised us we should be getting an interview date, which we have not recvd. I don't know what do. I called the attorneys office to see if I could get a phone number to call and inquire on that status of my husbands case, however his secretary said she could not provide me w/ one. I don't know what to do. I have called the phone number on the form I last recvd and all it states is that it can take up to 180 days to recieve anything else on the case (interview).
Is it normal to take this long? Anyone know where I can call or what I can do.

I'm not sure what is going on with your case. Your I-130 should go to California or Vermont Service Centers I thought. Maybe someone else can chime in too, but you might try posting this question under the I-130 forum cuz it sounds like you haven't made it to the NVC. Your case should move to the NVC after you get your NOA2 which is the approval letter.

We need a little bit more information before we can answer your question more thoroughly.
We need a timeline of how your husband entered the US and when.
This will help us figure out if you are doing an in-country adjustment of status or are required to go through the consulate in his home country for processing.
In my signature, there are guides for people who have entered illegally and entered legally. It would be helpful to know his information first. That way, you can read the correct information.

you have to make an infopass appt...found online USCIS site....to speak with the local office at Omaha....local offices do not give out numbers and do not talk to petitioners via phone...you have to go in person
I made an appt when I had my interview notice sent to me and my case was sent to Pittsburgh....i got my interview notice a week later

My case was transferred from Vermont to California. I got a letter stating it had been transferred. I immediately called to see how it would be processed because i had already been waiting 8 months and didnt want to be put at the bottom of the pile. They assured me i wouldnt be. I got my i30 approval in less than a month. Call the # listed on the letter you recieved telling you it was transferred. AND ESPECIALLY if its been over the 180 days.
