Just sent on our DS-230...... very nervous...

Hey all:

How's it going. I haven't been on here n a while, life has been a whirlwind these past few months with my hubby being laid off, out rent increased and what not..... So I've been trying to keep us afloat.

I guess this is as god of time as any to have my hubby go over to finish the last process of this immigration nightmare, so to speak.

I've seen some post earlier today about how some changes have been going through, not sure if I will be able to see all of them but in case any of you know something I don't please feel free t respond to this Post, It would really help us out.

I sent in his DS-230 last week. All fees are paid for, so I'm just waiting another week or so before I call and check and see if they will let me know when his interview date or what. we are planning to file the 601- he does qualify. I beleive I saw a change in that appointment too, can anyone confirm this?

Congratulations!! The new change is that once you have your first appointment (the visa appointment) you can no longer call and schedule your waiver appointment. Now you must go to your appointment and learn if you are eligible to file the waiver, which the consulate will tell you. When you have received the green light from the consulate THEN you can call and schedule your waiver appointment. I hope that helps. And then there's the DHL process to learn if you are approved or not. You can read more about that in the guide in my signature if you are curious.
