Hello,

My name is Marcos and I was born in Mexico, but was brought to the states @ an age of 1 month and I am know 24 years of age. My parents got their Green Card during the 1980's amnesty and later my mom petition for me and was approved, but when I got my approval notice out house burned and the approval notice was in the house therefore it left me without my approval notice and we never done anything about it and then as I grew up we tried to fix my status, but we just could not find any help. Now, I am in college and I am about to graduate in December with my bachelors and I need help. My parents got a immigration lawyer and its been almost a year and still no answer, the laywer said that he requested a duplicate of my approval and the USCIS requested more evidence and I or our lawyer sent the information they needed. Is there anything I could do? I need help, I would appreciate it, if you could help. Thanks!

You may want to ask Laurel Scott at her chat on Wednesday. So you are saying that your I-130 was approved back in the 80's? It may have expired by now. From what I have heard is that the I-130 does not last forever and you have to re-apply. Laurel's chat is Wednesday at 9am PST at www.visacentral.net
