Thanks in advance for your input...
Here's my situation, in a nutshell: I applied for citizenship 3 years ago, had my fingerprints and interview done about 18 months ago.
The year before I applied, my husband (an American) and I went on an extended honeymoon around Europe for just about 7 months. I didn't hear anything from INS for over a year, and they just sent me a letter denying my application, stating disruption of continuity of residence since I was out of the country for more than 6 months.
However, I did not "give up" my residency, and if I can somehow prove that, I think I may be able to get them to reconsider. They're giving me the opportunity to request a hearing on the decision, (form n-336), and they are asking me to send any paperwork/proof that I think will help my case.
My question: what kind of proof will suffice? I was in fact out of the country continuously for 7 months, but we kept all our furniture in storage, kept our bank accounts...
