so im hoping the dream act passes, but if not, i gotta do it the hard way, and pay for college, without any financial aid.
so i just had a question for you guys, and i know this may not be the right thread but i realized this is a pretty busy section so might as well give it a try.

**if i go to college and receive a degree, can i use that degree to get a job sponsorship here in america even though i am out of status and a undocumented student. i guess what im saying is that if i get a job sponsorship can they adjust my status.

Not unless there is a change in the law.

Good luck with college!

First of all this is the first time I heard this question but I found some links for you.I'm not sure if these will come in handy for you but a click might worth a try.

I'm assuming your status is non-immigrant.This basic guide might help you answer your doubts:

meaning you want to work in Canada?

Immigration law is very complex, it comes in many flavors and if self researching is not enough a consultation with an experienced attorney can help justify your options...

I think eddie said on another post that he is now out of status. In that case, he won't be able to adjust status unless him going out of status is beyond his control, right? Or if there is a change in the law, like the addition of the DREAM act....

Is this true even if he originally entered on a visa ?

Yeah, tourist visas expire an dyou ust leave. I have heard that there are some visas that expire, but don't expire (student visas I think)....

taskgirl, if eddie were to marry a US citizen, then he could adjust status in the US so long as he doesn't depart from the US. However, for someone that just falls out of status and doens't have a qualifying relative, this is not possible.
