well its been a few months of poking around to find out if my fiance were eligible for waivers I601 and I212....finally an answer YES!!! so im ready to move on!!!!! Ive also decided to do this process myself so Im gonna need lots of help!! have a few questions since my fiance is now in guatemala...(read in visajourney.com the K1 process)

what should I have him send me??
I need a few passport style photos of him...

Doesnt say I need his birth certificate..???
Do I??

I need to send him the G325A and have him sign...
also a letter of intent to marry and have him sign.....

Do I send my original birth certificate or a copy??
some say original some say copy..

Also his address...??
its not like here where we have numbers and an actual street..he lives in rural area(PETEN)
so he says they(dont know who) just go by your name??
so its like MR. blah paternal-maternal
El Chal, Dolores, Peten Guatemala
is this acceptable??

Also when I send stuff to him I usually use a courier company like GoldenExpress GuateExpress and they send to an office near him, call him and he picks it up..? so I just send it like that?? I dont even know how the "mail" system works there...

Also according do visajourney i need an I 134 support looks like this is expired..so I use the I-864 form to send with the I-129F correct??

Anyone think of anything else Im missing..??

When do I need police certificates from his country??
dont think i need this for the I129...
I think this is later..but when??

Sorry long post I know :shy:

Do I?? Two schools of thought on this - many do not send it (we didn't) - some are sending it as a 'better to be safe than sorry' safety valve. We didn't send my hubby's because we did copy the inside front cover of his passport as we were using passport stamps as proof of some of our face to face meetings - which to me, covered both bases (proof of his birth as well as proof of having met in the past two years. So its kind of a personal choice as to whether or not you want to send it.

I need to send him the G325A and have him sign...
also a letter of intent to marry and have him sign..... Yes - and be sure he sends and signs all 4 pages of the G325A.

Do I send my original birth certificate or a copy??
some say original some say copy.. ALWAYS send a copy - you may well never see the original again. When it comes time for your fiance's consular interview, let him have the original in case they ask to see it at that time.

Also his address...??
its not like here where we have numbers and an actual street..he lives in rural area(PETEN) Just write the address as you would if you were going to mail him something. They will use this address to send him forms once your case gets to the consulate.

Also according do visajourney i need an I 134 support looks like this is expired..so I use the I-864 form to send with the I-129F correct?? The I 134 is not needed until the consular interview phase. Do not send it with the petition. The date on the I 134 does not matter - just be sure it is the most recent version out on USCIS' website when you're filling it out for his interview.

Anyone think of anything else Im missing..?? If he has previously been married, you'll need proof of divorce/annullment, etc.

When do I need police certificates from his country??
dont think i need this for the I129...
I think this is later..but when?? For the consular interview.

We sent the birth certificate for both my fiance and I and had to include a translation. You can contact USCIS for the most current forms and requirements.
