My sister in laws husband's employer filed a 140 for a skiller worker in April 2001. They haven't heard anything yet. I am not familiar with this process. My husband did it through me. I am not sure the steps. Can anyone help advise us what to do? Can he get his work permenant or is it hard to get?

But best bet would be to contact the Immigration Lawyer acting on this case.

My SIL also is adjusting through 245i through a work petition that was submitted in April 2001. Just this past July, I think, her lawyer received the notification that they were ready for the Adjustment of status part, so that was just finished recently......hang in there, they should here something soon. I think it may also depend on where the labor certification had to come from. My SIL's was on the east coast and I am pretty sure it went through Philadelphia.....

Hey Mendoza, what is SIL?
And what was your field through which you were able to find a sponsor?

Yeah, sister in law is SIL and she was sponsored through her employer which is in the field of landscaping and agriculture. Since she submitted the I-140 prior the cut off date she was able to fall under 245i.
