renew german passport

Hi everybody,

does somebody knows if the german embassy share information with the american immigration?

Here is my situation:
I entered the U.S. legally 2 1/2 years ago but never went back to Germany. I still have that green little paper (I-94W) in my passport. My passport though expires in April 2008. I still don't have any papers that make me a legal residence so I can not go back to Germany to renew it (well I could but then I would risk my re-entrance and I am not willing to leave my fiance and my little 3-month old boy behind).
I am just worried about the american immigration finding me and deport me. It will break my heart!!! :cry:

I don't believe that the German consulate does share any information with the immigration.

You cannot renew your German passport at the German consulate if you do not provide any proof that you have filed for adjustment of status. I had to show them proof of filing.

Wenn ja, sobald du verheiratet bist, kann dein mann die papiere fuer dich einreichen.
Da du legal ins land gekommen bist, wird dir verziehen das du dein visa ueberschritten hast und du brauchst das land nicht verlassen.

Nachdem die papiere eingereicht sind und du eine bestaetigung hast, kannst du zum deutschen consulate gehen und deinen ausweiss erneuern lassen. du brauchst halt deinen alten pass und die abmeldebestaetigung fallst du dich in deutschland abgemeldet hast. dann dauert es ungefaehr 2 drei monate bis du deinen neuen ausweiss erhaelst.

vielen dank fuer deine Antwort. Yeap...mein Verlobter is Amerikaner und wir werden auch heiraten sobald seine Scheidung durch ist nur weiss ich nicht ob wir dass alles schaffen bis mein Reisepass ablaeuft. Ich habe mich noch nicht in Deutschland abgemeldet. Wenn ich das jetzt machen wuerde gehoere ich doch zu garnichts. Ich habe schon Anschreiben zu meiner Adresse in Deutschland bekommen das ich Strafe/Gebuehren bezahlen muss wenn ich keinen gueltigen Ausweis und keinen gueltigen Reisepass habe. Was mache ich denn jetzt? Mein Ausweis ist schon abgelaufen. Weisst du mehr?
