My father submitted his I-601 application at the US Embassy in Lagos, Nigeria; All of my supporting documents were accepted at the embassy and he was told the application would be sent away for consideration and that he would hear back from them once a decision was made.

They did not tell him where the waiver application was being sent and when he asked for a timeline, he was told to look in the applicaiton materials for a follow up number to call in a few weeks.

Does anyone have any experience and/or insight with filing medical waivers in Nigeria? Any feedback is appreciated.

Thank you.

All waivers both medical and otherwise are sent to the DHS office in Ghana for adjudication. Medical cases are often expedited sometimes by the Embassy request or you can get your senator to send a request to Ghana to expedite since it is of a medical nature.

you can call Ghana's Department of Homeland Security No at +23321741000

You need to have your immigrant visa interview, consulate advises that you are inadmissable and advises you of the need for the I601 or I212. Once you have your waiver packet together (they should tell you when you need to submit) It will then be forwarded to Accra Ghana to be adjudicated.
