Has anyone received a NOA2 from the Vermont Service Center recently?
I saw the processing time is 6 months. I was just wondering if that is pretty accurate. I haven't heard anything since I got the NOA1 in August?
Anyone know if the "6 months" begins when the petition is received at the service center or if it is when the NOA1 is received by the petitioner?
From Visajourny.com it says the average processing time during the last 3 months between the NOA1 and NOA2 is 96 days for all service centers. Which is about 3 1/2 months. Vermont's is 110 for last 3 months and 51 for the last year. It looks like they are working on April right now. So that is about 5 months. I'm estimating that I will receive mine between Nov 15 and December 15. I have no idea how the massive applications are going to effect this. My service center is CA and they are at 120 for 3 months and 96 for 1 year.

The 6 month processing time is what any of the service centers will list as it is their 'goal'.
I've seen it explained thus: when the service center is completing applications and petitions the service level goals they will report that as the processing time. For example, when the service level goal is to process a particular kind of case within six months, and if the actual processing time is six months or less, they'll show a date 6 months out.
If they exceed that, then the date posted will reflect the filing date of cases that are being completed.
But as amber said, they're processing them much faster than 6 months.
