Does anyone know when filing an I-129F with an I-130 if they go off the I-130 date or the I-129F date? I noticed on the VJ forum they were getting approved together, but do I need to look at July (I-130) or Sept (I-129F)? I really hate waiting too!

Angela, I don't really know the answer to that question but i did do some calculations for you. I did this last night at home, then my internet went down so I wasn't able to post it, so my numbers my be off just a bit.

From visajourney, I calculated the process time for November (CA) at 189 for i-130 and 145 for the i-129f. That came for your approvals to be i-129f around february 4th and i-130 february 2nd.

The 3 month average for the i-129f is 137, approval Jan 27th and i-30 is at 169, with approval for January 13th.

So I would say start expecting your approvals mid January/early February.

It looks like they are working on July right now for i-129f (with a few june and august) and for the i-130 its really messed up with June/July (with a few May and August).

See that is where I get confused because now Bobwindy's I-130 was approved and she applied right after me. I know they can always be out of order, but if they are going by when I sent my I-130 I should expect an approval soon. If they go by when I sent my I-129F then I have about 1.5 - 2 months more to wait. I noticed on the VJ fourm that people are getting approvals for both their I-130 and I-129f's at the same time. I saw two time lines like that. So I am just all confused.

I don't think she did and that is why I REALLY want to know the answer if they follow the I-130 timeline or the I-129F timeline when both apps are sent in.

I would say which ever comes first. Most cases it would be the I-129f because it gets approved faster. But in your case, I think its a toss up since you didn't send in your i-129f right after the i-130. I think that is why we are seeing the i-130 being approved out of order. Does that make sence?

We filed our I130 In March 2005. We filed the I129 in March 2006. (I know now you can't file the I129 after I130 approval, but than you could) Our I130 was approved in March 2006 a little before we filed the I129. Because of IMBRA and a big mess our I129 was not approved until August of 2006. Shortly after our case was sent to CDJ. In Sept. of 2006 our case was completed for the I130 and sent to CDJ (again there is a different procedure now so I don't know if this will help) We got our appt. in January 2007. Going by the I130 timeline we should've had our appt in June, BUT we got the appt. in the timeline of the K-3, but the actual appt was for the IR-1.

Hey Task - There were a few people that sent the I-129F after the I-130 and got their NOA1's for their I-129F's before the I-130. Like Djones. She stopped waiting for the NOA1 on the I-130 and sent other proof that she filed and I believe she has already got her NOA1 for the I-129F

I don't know how but I just now saw this. Where have I been? My husband's I-129f was sent to Juarez Nov. 21, 2007 and was approved on Dec. 1, 07. I thought he was supposed get the interview letter and documents needed at the interview all at the same time? I also didn't know I was supposed send something back to them first? It has already been 7 weeks since Juarez has approved it and we haven't received anything from them.

sent mine on 1/14...they didn't even get it till 1/19 (hello, priority mail????) and i still have not gotten an NOA1. BAH.

AND i'm super pissed that i didn't know i could've sent it back in august when i sent my i-130.

Did I understand this correctly? Can you submit the I-129 before receiving the receipt notice from the I-130? Thus resulting in a shorter wait for an interview? Are you sure?

at this point, we're not sure. see the thread called "K3 panic" for more info. people have been speculating that either a) the i-i29f will be ignored or b) the i-129f will delay the i-130 for approx. 3 months (hoping that's not true). so there is a lot of confustion about it. read that thread and see what you think. i don't know how to advise you because i'm confused too.

I pray to God we did something good, and didnt just delay pur process.

Bill you should know that you are mixing I-129F petitions for K1 Fiance visas with I-129F petitions for K3 non-immigrant Spousal visas. The best place to compare apples to apples, especially by service center, is the timelines on www.visajourney.com (http://www.visajourney.com)

The site is not about K3s only - my point was that you were mixing timelines of people who had filed I-129Fs for Fiances and people who filed I-129Fs for Spouses. Since people who filed for spouses have also filed another petition, and since people for filed for spouses are also experiencing some strange, unusual delays due to what may or may not be happening right now with USCIS and K3 processing, I thought you might want to know that.

Also, since you filed an I-129F for a fiance, and you most likely would like to compare your case with other people for filed I-129Fs for fiances (esp. at the same service center), I referred you to another site where they specifically track these things.
