What for they give me I 212?

Friend, they denied me to the interview. I need an I 601 and also they give me an I 212 saying on the paper-expedite removal (5 years bar). I don't know if I was expedite because i asked voluntare departure. But I lose the papers and I don't know. The problem is, they sais 5 years bar, but in my case, since then are more than 6 years. What for they give the I 212 waiver? I think the Consul officer is not ok , or because they are looking for me in their system to see when occured this (they fingerprint me to the Consulate).

are you sure it's not a 10 yrs bar?
I believe those years on the list of ppl who doesnt need to reapply I-212 are old outdated laws.

btw I am no expert, I am seeking help myself too!

Expedited Removal gives you a 5 year bar, unless there are other complications or previous removals.

even after the time has passed you still need 212 ..deff is if its within the time frame they need to balance positive nd neg factors if time has elpsed they just approve it based on fact that time elapsed consulte itself can do it

Jesuslovesyou, i also talked with Laurel and told me that I don't need an I 212, maybe just they want to take me the fee and i have the right to fight with them or not. Today I called the Consulate for make me an appoiment because i'll have to go for give them my waiver. I asked the lady why they give me an I 212, too. She told me - because you were deported. And I told her that on the paper they give me, says 5 years bar, and I asked her from when start this bar. She answered me - from the day they deported you. And I said her that they deported in 2001 so, are more than 6 years. She answered me - aha,so, you don't need it. More then this, in all the papers I read, expedire removal is 5 years bar.
This is ridicolous and the persons who worh on the consulate are not professional. They can game withthe persons. Today is black, tomorrow is white.

I spoke to Laurel and another one of the attorneys she recommended in the Recommendations thread....after the 5 years you don't need the I-212, the Visa can be approved without it for expedited removal with a 5 year ban.

i am just quoting it from the official i-212 adjucation process where it says approve it f time elapsed ..well VO's conulate try to play safe
