Will the field office answer questions?

Hi,

I was just wondering if a field office would reply if we would send them a letter asking them what has happened to our application?

The only thing we would like to know if they are going to process the I-212 or if they have sent the I-212 to their service center. We would like to get some kind of tracking number, but have not received one yet.

Or, maybe we should not bother them....
