You know what, I'm probably the only person in the world that doesn't worship Chiptole (at least I KNOW I'm the only one at work), but I am just SO MAD at them!
First of all, they put WAY too dang much rice on their burritos, and they don't spread out the ingredients when rolling their burritos... it never fails. Everytime we order Chipotle, I get a nice big bite of rice and green salsa to start off with... and I have to eat about 15 more bites of "just rice" to get to the beans, cheese, chicken & guac. Last time, they forgot the beans altogether and I just had a rice & lettuce burrito.
Second of all, THEY FORGOT MY CHIPS FOR THE 3RD TIME IN A ROW! I love chips with salsa, and that is the only thing I look forward to. They always forget them! I am so PI$$ED! $9 is a LOT for me to spend on a meal, so I really expect them to get it right...
It's just a bunch of overpriced food drenched with cilantro and tossed with romaine instead of iceburg. You might think "but the burritos are so big!" but most of the burrito is rice and beans! Most of us know that rice and beans are some of the least expensive foods on the planet! I need to Google a 1-800 number and let them know how I feel. It really takes a lot to make me this angry. I just hate looking at everyone eating their delicious chips and salsa while I had to open my burrito and evenly distribute my ingredients and scrape about 3/4 of the rice into the trash can. I can't even wrap it back up now.
Sorry... I just wanted to gripe because I'm mad.

I don't like them either..I got a steak taco about a month ago and it was freezing cold, and the meat wasn't cooked all the way!

I love chipotle! (I don't worship them, but the new one they put in our town is good!)
They actually put an equal amount of ingredients and plenty of meat, maybe it depends on the store, and their rice is really good!.....Only problem is they are expensive.
We don't have baja fresh in our town....I'll have to venture out to find that one!

I'm with you corazoncita! I can't stand Chipotle either. It's just a sloppy mess for way too much money! Also.. I hate how it's supposed to be "Mexican" right... but no Mexicans working there... R&B music playing... and no one seems to give a crap about your order... I'm sure every Chipotle isn't horrible, but the 2 I've been to were. Also.. the chips would be delicious if they weren't always STALE!!!! Ahhh!

At the University of Minnesota there were always a line everyday - faithfully - around the block. People who didnt know about Chipotle would honestly think there free give aways going on. LMAO. I dont mind them if I am hungry... but I agree with others, there is better out there.

Hubby and I had Chipotle today!! We used to eat there probably once a week - and love it! Now, maybe once a month just because of their price and we have a family of 4 ... (sorry to go against the consensus here!!) I get a burrito bol though and mix my ingredients together, never had their chips and salsa, and the latinos that work there are always super friendly!! The only other places like that I have tried here in Minnesota was a local place called Fajitas (same style as Chipotle, but HORRIBLE quality and they went out of business about 2 months after they opened) and Qdobo (also, IMO, not nearly as 'filling' or yummy as Chipotle) ....
Sorry you have had some horrible experiences there Corazoncita - here in MN though - they have always done a good job IMO!!! I'm a Chipotle faithful!

OK- Chipotle (or as everyone at work calls it, "Chipotleaf") is a chain that makes a very small menu of fru-fru tacos and burritos. In the southeast, they have Moe's Southwest something-or-other, which pretty much has the exact same menu, but funky names for the different types of entrees... and YES! Chipotle IS owned by McD's! Weird, right??
Also, around the KC area, they have hired a bunch of Latinos to work at the Chipotle's, and they are playing upbeat pop-ish sounding salsa music. I guess they got a lot of complaints about the staff not being "Mexican" enough... lol! ANY Chipotle in this area will now be staffed with nothing but hispanic people... it's quite interesting the way they did a 180 like that.
Kelli--- I would have MUCH rather have eaten Taco Bell than that crap I had today. I can still taste that dang cilantro lime rice when I burp! TB doesn't hold a candle to authentic Mexican, or even Tex Mex, but at least Taco Bell doesn't charge an arm and a leg for their fake Mexican food! ;) Sorry I am not contiuously spoiled by my in-laws cooking... :P

I don't really care for Chipotle either. I only go there every once in awhile when out work agrees to go there. I don't like their steak because it's usually not cooked all the way and it's chewy, I don't like my meat to be raw. It's too expensive for what you get. I agree, BajaFresh is better!

Luckysprite, I have to agree with you. We get take out from there about once a week. I get the salad with chicken, beans and salsa....pretty healthy. My husband gets the burrito and we tell them just a pinch of rice, black beans, veggies, barbacoa, and all the salsas. He loves the corn salsa and we always get a side of guacamole and chips. Their chips are the best they have a hint of lime and we love it.
I did try the Qdobo once!!! I did not know it was like Chipotle and it was horrible.
Our Chipotle is always full of students from Loyola Marymount University. Lots of young people.
Yes it is owned by McDonalds. We bought their stock when they first opened because they are always packed here and we made a pretty profit and then sold it. They are very popular here in Southern Cali, and we have tons of good Mexican restaurants.
On another note...Taco Bell is one place that I refuse to eat. It makes me ill. To each his own. Funny how we all see these things differently. My husband likes it but he likes corndogs from AM also..... :D

hehehe since maryland is an odd blend of northeast and southeast in just about every aspect, we have BOTH chipotle and moe's...
not wild about either...though i will definitely eat either because i like food a little too much, and i'll take either over taco bell (my husband is the opposite, he loves taco bell but says that chipotle "isn't authentic"--can you believe that?!?!)
did you know that a chipotle burrito has like 1200 calories?

men are like that...when i met my husband i gained 20 lbs in 4 months--and i don't eat half as much as he does, and he stays thin. my friend from nicaragua told me never to eat tortillas because that's what makes you fat... i'm starting to think she has a point. ever read the calorie count on a tortilla package?

What ever happened to people cooking their own food? Thats why most of us are fat pigs. The crap they put in food makes it taste good but is muy malo.

Don't ever speak ill of Chipotle again! j/k I love love love them but I haven't had them since I've been on my diet. But I agree the don't spread the food out evenly.
Ever seen that Seinfeld when Kramer had the Cuban cigar rollers? Then they started rolling crepes and they exploded? I think that's what could happen with those chipotle wrappers !

LMAO this is funny my husband can eat so much also. I swear his 10 tortilla's later and I only eat 3 at the most. We both like chipolte I agree with LuckySpirit here in MN the service is good and you can just tell them what you want on it and if you need more of something they are willing to give.

I dont know what Chipotle is either but we just had a Del Taco open up down the street. It seems pretty good. They actually have latina women working there who know how to speak spanish! This is unheard of for a mexican retaraunt in Michigan. Usually its just some high school kid.
