Hello Everyone!

I am very glad  to gave registered and became a member of this site. For the two days that I have been a member I have learned so much. I have not started the process yet, even though I have been married for three years. I am so excited to meet people who are in or have been in my shoes. I really respect the fact that there are so many people that are willing to share, provide samples of their letter, resources and even give friendship. Thank you!

This process is so scary, confusing and worrisome that it makes me want to :ah:, but I do feel and have so much faith that everything is going to be allright.

When I feel in love with my husband I knew it because I was willing to carry this cross with him.

Thank you all!

DeBenny

Hi DeBenny - I got your PM and I will reply tomorrow. For starters, read the post under the link in my signature. "Need help..." It will answer a lot of the basic questions. Glad to see another Wisconsinite - there are a surprising number of us actually! :)

Hi DeBenny,

I just tried to email you at the both addresses you gave and both bounced back.

Basically, you will need to file a petition for your spouse, and eventually, he will have to go to Ciudad Juarez (he's from Mexico, right?) for his visa interview. At that time he will be initially denied the visa and then told whether he can file an I-601 waiver for his unlawful presence.

A few questions: does your husband have any criminal history? And has he ever left and re-entered the U.S. EWI in the time he has been here? Those two are important factors for the I-601. If the answer to both questions is no, you should have a relatively simple case, if not, please provide details.

Anyway, keep reading and asking questions on the forum. You'll be up to speed in no time!
