More approvals please CDJ!!! :)

Adriane we are assuming that luvmyjth is a September approval because her waiver was submitted at the very end of August.

Geez, I don't know. I just thought that there had been some Sep filers that had gotten approvals- or maybe I'm confused because W.J. said they were working on Sep.....

Yes, there's a whole new Visa Pickup interview after your approval. Once you get your approval letter, than you'll get scheduled a visa pickup date for your spouse to get his visa at the consulate. Right now those dates are about 4 months AFTER the actual date of approval. They are scheduling for October 07 right now.

and I thought my husband would be gone and back in a month. Its been 9 months since he left and 8 since his last interview he hasn't even seen our new daughter born in Oct ,2006 a week after he left. I there anythin that can be done now?

There's not really anything else to do but wait. I know it's very hard and frustrating! It's been almost a year now for us since my husband left. I haven't seen him since January.

Hopefully we'll keep seeing approvals come in and they'll be working on October soon! :)

My wife was approved. Date of approval 5/25/07. We submitted waiver on 7/31/06. I called today and they said our pickup date is 9/24/07. I haven't told her the pickup date as she will be disappointed. She wanted me to call and get it. I'm just going to wait till she calls me. My kids (almost 2 and almost 4) are with her and we will be at 14 months not as a family on pickup date. But at last we can see an end to our nightmare. I hope you all get your approvals soon.

Natorres,

My husband was told 4-6 months, and actually, the pinche notario who helped us do the initial paperwork said it would be 2 months, and didn't tell us anything about the waiver or the hardship letter that I had to turn in to support our case. Good thing I found I2US!!!!

Thanks. I have been around for a long time just never could remeber my password to log on and the site was just to slow for me to fight with logging in. So I would just watch approval dates before. It is great to actually be able to post again though. (My user name was Louisa2776 before)

I realize many of you have been seperated from you loved one's for awhile, however, many of us have been seperated for many years not months. I have been seperated from my wife for 3 and 1/2 years. She in Acapulco and me in Atlanta. Our I-130 got sidetracked because of our age differance. That really sucked. ThankGod for cheap international phone service. My wife now is 7 months pregnant with our first child.

Don't want anyone to feel sorry for me just want everyone to know that love can conquere all. ( where is the spell checker ) Ps. at times I feel like i need to be on massive medication to get through it, but, then I just take it one day at a time.

Stay in touch and thanks for the support.

I'm new and very happy I found a page like this. I filed a waiver for my wife on August 2005. Like many people I sent a very simple letter with the waiver. After 1 year and a half of not receiving any type of respose, I consulted an immigration attorney. She sent all the paperwork again in March of this year. I still have not received any response. I'm wondering if anyone else has had to wait this long. I called Juarez last week and even the lady I talked to was surprised to know I've had to wait this long. I hope you guys can comment on this.

I'm so happy for you Nsoto!!!! Looks like you'll be going to Juarez in October after all!!!

They're almost done with August!

Scarface, I don't have any idea what's going on with your case! I have no idea why you wouldn't have gotten a response to the waiver you filed in August 05! You should have heard something like a year ago....

Thank You For Your Response M&m. I Really Don't Know What Is Going On. I Think That I Should've Received Any Response By Now, Even If It Was A Negative Response. I Don't Know What To Do. If After Two Years, I Have To Do The Process All Over Again And Then Wait 2 More Years, I'm Going To Be Very Upset. So I Guess, No One Else Has Had To Wait This Long.

I haven't seen anyone that this has happened to. Did your lawyar do inquiries and all to try to find out why you never got a response to your first waiver?

She said she sent a letter to see what the deal was with my case. I called her yesterday and she still has not received any response from anyone. She said it takes up to a year for them to respond to the new waiver. That did not make me happy. How am I going to wait another year? She is supposed to call me today. I have plenty of knowledge now to know that something is not right. So I have to talk to her and see what she can do to speed things up. At first I thoght that maybe because I didn't send enough documents to support my waiver, it was taking them long, but now that I think about it, if they saw that I didn't send enough info. and that my waiver didn't stand a chance, I don't see how it would take them this long to say NO.

i'm so glad the site is back up!
when i called on 11/30/07 (bloom, waiver turned in 11/14/07) to find out when our waiver was sent to DHS, they said it was sent that same day(11/30). So do you think it gets received by DHS that same day, or are we going to be stuck in the December waivers? just want to decide how depressed i need to get with these current 2nd appointment dates.

Welcome Scarface. Did you file through Ciudad Juarez? If so, this is most definitely not a normal situation. :curse:

Your Attorney is clearly not up on what is going on in CDJ, or he/she would know this is ridiculously too long to wait. Have you contacted one of your U.S. Senators to do an inquiry. This would be your best bet to possibly find out some more information.

thanks. . .i know i will be happy just to know, so i guess even if the pick- up dates are taking as long as they are (that is, being lucky enough to GET approved and GET a pickup date), there is nothing we can do about it. my husband has told i have to stop my pity party and start doing something to get my mind off of things. he told me he doesn't want to talk anymore about immigration, because it only sucks more energy out of us worrying and thinking about things we can't change. but anyways. . .:shy:

When my husband turned in his waiver last October they told him every case was different and even though the wait was 6-9 months at that time that ours would take only 3-4 months! I have been here long enough without him now that I went through a whole pregnancy alone and our son was born last week. No papa here yet..only five kids and one tired old (and did I mention flat broke) mom. Every time I checked on the progress by sending an e-mail the time estimate grew and grew until they finally told us 12 months. I wish they had been honest at the start. He is so discouraged that now he doesn't even want to hear ANY news about the backlog, bad or good! I hope the approvals pick up again like they were...more families back together is only good news to me and one step closer to my husband coming home.

Seriously...same scenario only our son was born on May 18th and I have two kids...the rest the same. Girl I am right there with you.

Thank you laurfern11. You are probably right. Too bad I already paid her 2,500 usd. I filed a waiver in Cd. Juarez (August 2005), then I came back home and sent the letter to prove hardship. I sent a very simple letter, I don't know if this is the reason why it's taking so long, but then the attorney sent the waiver with plenty of supporting documents in March of this year. I have not contacted my senators, but I'm going to try that. I feel so confused and my wife is very worried, we just don't see why our case could be taking so long. None of this makes any sense to me. I e-mailed Cd. Juarez on Thursday and I haven't received a response. But I want to try everything I can. But I'm so glad I found this page. I just hope my case can be solved soon and my wife and I can start living a normal life. Two years have been toooo long.

Scarface - is it possible that your first lawyer received notice of your denial (for lack of hardship) and didn't tell you? Back in August 2005, they were only taking a few months, maybe 6 (someone else chime in here if I am wrong...) but it also seems that they were far more lenient... anyway, definitely call your Senators' offices and see which will do an inquiry ASAP.

That does kind of make sense Laurafern. Like maybe they were denied and all the new stuff that they filed in March was like an appeal or something......

About 8 months after i filed the waiver in Cd. Juarez, I called them because they said it would take them 4 to 6 months and I had not received anything. They told me that I would get something the following month. That month went by and nothing happened, so I called again and they told me that by the end of the month, and nothing. Then I called once more and they told me that they didn't have any information for me, that I had to wait. It ddin't make any sense that they would give me a date and later they would just tell me to wait. Then I called them a couple months later and they told me that Homeland Security had my case. Then from there on all they've told me is to wait. I did not have a lawyer when I filed my first waiver. I did everything on my own. I understand what you are saying M%M and Laurafern 11, but if they denied my first waiver, I should've received a letter from them, right? or do you think that maybe they just dismissed my case? If my second waiver serves as an appeal, do you think I have a chance? I e-mailed my senator on Friday, I hope he can help me. I truly appreciate your comments. Thank you for taking the time to write.

I see, I thought maybe you had used a lawyer the first time, and he/she perhaps received notice of approval/denial, and didn't inform you properly. But yes, you should have received a letter that you were denied.

Do you recall when they told you that Homeland Security had it whether they gave you a transfer date?

Also, just a tip, I have had bad luck with e-mailing Senators. Best to write a letter, and call a few days later, ask for their immigration aide (if they have one) and see if they received the letter. The correspondence I have had success with was from the local office, not the DC office, so you might want to send a letter to each office, and then contact the local office and request they inquire. You can get all the contact info here (http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm). Stress that you have waited far longer than anyone else you have met in the same situation.

Keep us posted!

and I thought my husband would be gone and back in a month. Its been 9 months since he left and 8 since his last interview he hasn't even seen our new daughter born in Oct ,2006 a week after he left. I there anythin that can be done now?

I noticed things seem to be a little new to you, and I wanted to ask you if you are sure you submitted a good Hardship Letter (even if you had a lawyer do it, are you SURE s/he did a good job?). I am asking because there is still time for you to improve your letter and your chances for approval. Now that you have found this site there is a lot of good information to help you.

After I found this site I completely re-wrote my letter, and it's a good thing because my first letter SUCKED. It is because I sent in a new one that my husband has his green card now. I Just wanted to check and make sure you are as ready as you can be.

Honestly I don't recall they date of my call and they didn't tell me when my case had been transfered.
Thanks for the tip. I will write them. How do I get the local office address? It only shows the DC one. What should I write in the letter? I don't want to write too much or maybe not write enough.
I also e-mailed Ciudad Juarez and I received an e-mail today. This is what they responded: The waiver is still in process. As soon as we receive any information from the DHS office, you will be notified. I guess they still haven't made a decision about it. At least it hasn't been denied. I repeat none of this makes any sense, what can posibly be taking them this long? My wife has no criminal record. I'm just terribly depressed and stressed out.

Congratulations Kphillips!!!!

You usually can find your visa pickup date by calling the 202 number about 2 weeks after you get the approval letter. Then the the visa pickup packet comes about a week or so after that.

Also butterfly posted on the Juarez forum that she was approved too! On June 26!!!

Question - On the I2US list they are all approved, but I clicked on the link to the Juarez Forum and I see a few denials. Why are there so many people denied on that forum? I feel really bad for them. Were their HSL's not complete or something?

M&M
07-17-2007, 06:57 AM
There looks to be alot of denials on that forum because it is alot newer than this one. Most of those denied people joined the forum after they were denied, whereas people who are approved tend to move on with their lives and you don't see them so much on the forum anymore. I think Catiana and I started that list around the beginning of the year. And actually almost all of the denied people over there were on this forum first. So far immigrate2us has had 8 denials. Kareninna, Barona, Morena, Sananamon, Rope, Adwilli, Chuletas and Catiana. Our last denial was Rope who's waiver was denied in April, 13 months after it was sent to DHS.

Um I have a question, well actually two.. I noticed that some people that had a first appointment after me had there waivers in system with DHS… WAY before me.. Wonder why???
And are they working on Waivers submitted in October to the consulate, or cases they received in October???

nsoto
07-18-2007, 08:38 PM
I think what Oscar meant is waivers received to DHS in October. DHS wouldn't go by the date we submitted them to the consulate.

Also, who knows with the consulate, when they send the waiver to DHS. I know that while we submitted our waiver on 8/16 and it was transferred 8/19, while some of the below was submitted before me, but sent to DHS after me at like the end of the month..

Good Luck! I know you will be hearing somethingn soon!!!

Okay I was finally able to get an answer about my husband' 601. We filed January 18 and I was told today that it was sent January 24. I am getting bits and pieces of information. The girl I spoke with today informed me it is taking between 8 months and 1 year for and answer. (but I already knew that thanks to I2US)

I always thought that too! I think it would probably be too much work for them though. Thousands of people file through CDJ, so it would take a huge amount of time to update a system like that. That's probably why they don't do it. Of course if they had something like that though, they'd probably get way less inquiries.

Thanks for the update princesa!

I just finally was able to re-register now that the site has been changed. Anyways, my hubby received his approval at the end of May and in June we got his appt. date which will be on the 9th of August. Here's the basic stats of our case: 1st appt. May 22, 2006, Approval: May 19, 2007, Visa Pick up: August 9th. Just to get an update: we won't have to repay visa fee? Will they just ask him the same questions as in teh last interview and how long should he be expected to be in the consulate that day?? Thanks for everyone's help!!

Welcome back kellieram!!! It's nice to see you again! Wow, your visa pickup is soon!!!! :D It's kind of unclear right now whether or not you'll have to pay teh visa fee again. The last couple visa pickups haven't had to, but all the ones before did. Plus the newer pickup packets have been saying that we don't have to repay. So make sure you hubby has the money just in case! I've heard that the visa pickup usually is alot faster.

(OK, I wouldn't be saying that if I was one of the lucky ones who got that chance. I just think it's SO damn unlucky of me to have my interview three months earlier than the pilot program was started, or however long. It just feels so sickening to be waiting while waves of others are approved after me.)

Hey natorres, let's go home together!!! Our dates are pretty similar. Hopefully when your children are grown they will hug their daddy every day and not remember these days when he was far away.

How can our government do this to us? I understand paying for previous "crimes" like crossing the border illegally, but, good God... Paris Hilton drove drunk twice and spent less than a month in jail, and Nicole Richie is about to spend just a few days in jail for also driving drunk TWICE. My husband didn't cross at a checkpoint - I think driving drunk is much more dangerous and serious a crime, yet we've been punished for years now.

Why can't they just give us our approval and let us schedule InfoPass for our pickup (instead of waiting THREE months LONGER!?!)... there's just no logic to any of this.

How does it work now that most of the waivers are coming from Mexico City? I'm assuming they are sent out from the offices in El Paso (?), so do you think maybe they wait until they get a whole bunch before they send them back to El Paso to have them sent out by mail (hence this REALLY long dry spell??)

gdalicia
07-28-2007, 07:38 PM
Maybe they are taking a breather to try and let the Consulate catch up with all these visa pick-ups? Or maybe they are holding the approvals and not sending them out so quickly so that it seems like less time to the pick-up once we get the letter!

We had our interview on Nov 2nd turned in waiver on Nov 5th and DHS received on Nov 15th so we are now into our 9th month and counting. I am praying we will get our approved waiver in Sept so I can hope and pray for my husband to be home for Xmas, God willing!:daydream:

You may be right, as there was a period of time where NADA, and then we did have that mini-blitz in May/June and then things started slowing down in July,,,,,so perhaps that is what they are doing, waiting to mail out mass approvals shortly,,,,,but really I don't think it fair to keep us all in limbo when they don't even have the approval on their computer system if you call into the 202#, so different area's are not kept abreast of what is going on between the different depts with that Embassy @ CDJ!:confused1::dontgetit::curse:

How long has it been since we have seen any approvals? I hate seeing these lulls. Why can't they just finish up the backlog for everyones sake!!

Me too!!!

I think it's interesting that it was signed by Warren too, since most approvals have been being signed by Oscar....

Do you think you and I might hear something next month or end of this month.
We hit the end of our 9th month and are now 5 days into the 10th month,,,,,,,,I am praying that we possibly will get our waiver approvals soon, but think next month more likely.
We really haven't seen much movement in the past 3-4 wks at all.:curse::mad:

Let's just remain positive that CJD/MX City, and Tijuana Embassy's will mail out their approved waivers!

OK everyone, it's the end of my Friday work day and I have not seen any approvals except for the expedites. I just hope next week we will be bombarded with approvals. I will not be visiting the site much next week (it's my overtime week) :( So I wish everyone good luck!!
