USA won the Gold Cup last weekend
Now since playing Copa America they lost against Argentina 4 - 1, Monday 07/02/2007 we will see how it goes when they play against Paraguay
I love futbol! My kids and hubby play as well !!!!
When does the US play against Paraguay??? My husband was so mad when the US beat Mexico for the gold cup, I had to call him up just to rub it in!!! :innocent:
I like the US and Mexico, but if I had to pick then I'd pick US because that's my home country!
Mexico's kicking butt!

I was very upset also that Mexico lost to the USA.... They had everything to win and ended up loosing...... What better example then the past two games they played with Brazil and Ecuador...:(

The US seems to have devloped a team/style to win the Gold Cup, but needs to re-think if it wants to compete at the higher levels.
I would still put my money on Brazil, they have a history of slow starts.
Shame Football does not have a higher profile in the US, but things are improving.

Football has a huge following in the U.S. In fact I lost $500 by betting on the Bears with the point spread. ... OH! you mean the "other" football a.k.a. soccer. The only things I know about it is the soccer Hooligans, Pele, Maradona (sp?) and the spice girl husband guy. I did try to follow a full game once or twice but couldn't stay awake. I found it as boring as watching a full baseball game. I figure I could get the Reader's Digest version by watching the nightly news if I really wanted to follow the teams.

Another cool site if you are a fan is www.oleole.com it's like a online forum and gives live results etc if you can not make to see the game~!
USA has improved ALOT, I think tonight's game will be better than what we seen last week against Argentina plus some of the main players will be back in.
Mexico played AWESOME against Brazil, it was a proud moment for Hubby

Technically Football is Rugby Football, Rugger types call Association Football Soccer, a very classist thing. So quite funny that Americans also use that term.
American Football came also much later, always wondered why they called it Football at all, seems more handball to me.
But at least with American Football you can get your 40 winks in and not miss any of the game.
No TV at the moment, Dish comng Thursday, and FSC is of course on their most expensive package.
Even on FSC I notice that the US Commentators often us the term Football.....
