I would like to purchase airline tickets in advance for after the "visa pick-up" appoinment. The price is significantly better. But...I'm a little afraid to seeing that sometimes CDJ has delays in interviews and such. What did you guys do?

I would purchase them if the difference between buying now and buying later is way over $100.00 as you will incur a $100.00 change fee for non-refundable ticket if you have to make a change. For example, purchasing a ticket 21 days in advance will give you a terrific price probably saving about $200-$300.00 and even if you had to pay the $100.00 change fee, you would still save.

Yes, definitely check out Southwest. You have to go directly to their site. They do no show up on any of the consolidators like Expedia or Travelocity or Kayak or anything. They only sell tickets through their site.

Great! Thanks for your help guys! I see one way right now is $124 with taxes and a day or 2 in advance would jump the price to over $350. I'll definately check Southwest, because I myself am indeed going South and West. Hee hee.

lmao! Your funny! I would research prices. If you do have to make a change then it would still save. Also, I would make it for the next day after your appointment, but late in the afternoon or at night just to ensure that you still have sometime during the day, JUST IN CASE!!
YAY! I'm soo happy for you!!!

Yes I am pacing now. No time No time!!!
I think I will purchase the tickets to come home for the eve. of the 19th or for Saturday the 20th. We may spend an extra day in Texas or CDJ but we won't be rushed to run to the flight.
I will have to purchase my fiance a ticket, I would like to buy it over the internet. How will I get that to him? I imagine I could email him the ticket confirmation and itenerary and he will just use that at the airport at check-in just like I would here. What do you guys think?

Jancy all he needs is the confirmation # and ID to have his ticket printed up at the airport!

Yes, I did that for my fiance (now hubby) when he was emigrating. I purchased the ticket in his name (of course!), and had the e-ticket sent to his email address. The only thing that was mine was the credit card number. :p
