I filled N-400 on 22th January 2007 and did fingure print on 18th February.
Its been over 7 months i have not got my interview letter. Can anyone think of any reason why it is getting so late

I am checking the status of my application but nothing changed.

Where can i find help?

Thanks people.

Depending on what service center you're going through, it may take over a year before you get a letter for an interview.

A colleague of mine filed her N400 in march and has her interview next week. I sent mine in april, so my appointment should be coming up soon, too. We are both being processed through Newark, NJ.

My coworker reported to me via email that she passed her citizenship test/interview in Newark today, and that the whole thing was very easy and straight forward. I will get a full report from her when I return from vacation next week.

You can check to see where the field office you sent your application to is at in their I-400s by going to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp and clicking on the field office you sent it to. They either give a date like January 2, 2007 or will give a time like "7 months" which should give you some guidance as to how long it'll take them to get to you. Of course, with all of the filings before July 30th the offices are going to be swamped with applications from around that time. I tried to find immigration messageboards that had peoples' I-400 time lines and I just can't seem to find any. Does anyone know of any good ones?

Just received my interview letter today. The interview is scheduled for April 2, 2008. N-400 application received by BCIS on May 23 2007, so 8 1/2 month processing time for Newark, NJ. Not bad.
