Hi Guys,
Any ideas how long does it take to have the I-212 approved/denied through Italy?
and if the I-601 is approved does that mean its approved also?

I will bump this with a bit of information and hopefully others will follow.
You can take a look at the I-601 spreadsheet here: http://immigrate2us.net/forum/showthread.php?t=61
You can figure out how long each of them took for a decision. That may be helpful to you. But it is impossible to compare cases as each is different. If they have the Y that means they had to also file the 212 waiver.
The first date listed is when they filed their waiver at their consulate. The second date listed is when their waiver was approved in Rome. So by looking at the difference between the two dates you can tell how long it took for adjudication from the date it was filed. Many things can come into play though. Whether there were additional security clearances, how long each consulate takes to get the waiver to Rome, whether the CO in Rome agrees with the assessment of the CO in the original filing country etc. So it is very difficult to compare cases, but maybe this will give you some idea.
Generally speaking if the 601 and the 212 are filed at the same time...the 601 is adjudicated first and if the 601 is approved then generally the 212 is approved as well.

Normally, when an I-212 and I-601 filed together, the I-601 will be adj. (a.k.a decided/approved) first and then followed by the adj. of I-212. And in normal case, when I-601 is approved, the I-212 will be approved as well.

I moved this from the I-212 Timelines forum. Timelines are not for posting Qs but just for timelines.:)

i-212 alone can take anywhee from 2 months to 1 yr it all depends various factors contibute
following will make things faster
1. approved immigrat visa petetion
2. passage of time
3. if you are inside the country and not applying for 601
4.filed along with 485
followig will delay
1. filed at consulate .. consulate then farwards the application to district office who notroriously slow and if yor file is not there they have to request the whole package,
2. deported recently in thi casee you file might not be yet uptodate and immig waits on for calrifications
3. if you are applying fo any other waiver
4. criminal record ..then they will need full details of those records rehabilaton etc etc
hope this helps

My I-212 is taking 1 year already, and I dont have any criminal records, I was never illegal there which means I didnt need the I-601, it's been 3 years since they removed me from ATL, I filed it in ATL where removal was done, I am still in my country and never even tried to go back without a visa, I did everything as they say and even like that it has been 1 year already since we filed it, and I have the I-130 approved and we are married more than 2 years already also. So I can not tell it depends on anything just their mood or whatever it is. We have been told by a senator is helping us that the I-212 was approved finally but still sitting in the director's office to be signed!
Good luck!

district offices allways take long times to appove waivers .mainly bcoz they normally dont hve anybody whos is familir with this cases ..and the one person they might assign has to handle everything along with other case loads ...no they dont have a staff dedicated for waivers ...its not in their manifest ..they just have to find someone in the staff..
its not just atlanta every district office is like that everybody had a horror story of 212's filed in district office taking 2 to 4 yrs
best is service center
