Hi Everyone
After a year wait , my lawyer just informed me that , our waiver 601 and 212 was denied . The OIC said that i had claimed US citizenship while filling for a Job application .My wife who is asmathic and suffer sick cell anemia , but the OIC said that these were not enough reason also , even though we had supporting documents from her doctor and since she was in the US army and was discharged for medical , we submitted the army papers as well to show that her health condition was geniune
My lawyer is advising us to refile , but i don't think it's a right move if i go by what Laurel said on her website i quote " Always be sure to ask your client if he/she ever claimed to be a US citizen for immigration purposes. This is a permanent ground of inadmissibility for which there is no waiver, INA 212(a)(6)(C)(ii). The US consulate in Juarez is diligent in finding aliens
who have committed this particular violation."
Anyone ? Do you now if claiming US citizenship for work related matters will fall under " immigration purposes ".
Thank you all

Oh no! How did they even find that out (about the job application)? Man, we have not been hearing good news out of Accra lately. I am so sorry this happened. Consult with Laurel or wait for her free chat to ask your question.

working is an immigrant benefit for USCIS's purpose. what are the chances they find out? next to nil, but it's always a risk...

did you in fact claim that? do they have a copy of any I-9's you may have? if, in fact, you did claim that on an application but did not get the job (so no work, no pay), in theory, that could make a difference.

this govt. is wacky-i hope you can get this sorted out!

Any claim to US citizenship after September 1996 incurs a permanent ban.
