View Full Version : Being "touched"

I sent my I-130 in and got my NOA1 at the start of June. Well, if I pull my case up online, it still just shows what my case is and that they received it that day. It seems as though other people have their cases "touched" and I understood that to mean that it reflected the last date their case was worked on. Am I right and should I worry that the date has never changed for me?
Thanks

put it this way--i'm not sure what's going on for people already in the system, but i do know that there is a huge overload in i-130 processing right now and that they simply may not have "gotten to" your case, as much as that sucks. but don't take my word as fact, because i don't know about existing cases for people who already have NOAs.
good luck!

"touches" mean nothing - sometimes it means your file was moved from one desk to another. Sometimes people see no "touches" from NOA1 to approval.

Arodrigues - we also received our NOA1 in early June - although our official received date at USCIS is May 25.
As kitkat said - touches really don't mean anything. There is a lot of hype about them on the VJ - but the reality is that some cases will receive a 'touch' when their case is worked on - or for no reason at all. Some cases get 'touched' and then hear nothing for many more weeks. Yet others never receive a touch at all.
We have not had a 'touch' on our case since June 12 - but I am still just hoping that the NOA2 will be here SOON - with or without being touched.
For both of our sakes - I hope we hear something soon. I was hopeful to have an approval by early sept (3 months out) and now each day I just get more and more frustrated that we've heard nothing. (I dont know how everyone deals with waiting for the waiver...that's gonna kill me if we don't get a PP approval...*sigh*) I didnt think we would be as affected as we are by the influx of petitions rushing to get in before the fee increase since we were two months prior - as you would think that they could still work on pending cases....everything just seems to have stopped at USCIS....
Ugh - mini-rant over!!
