This is a stupid mistake, I can't believe it, I'm sorry, but things like this really irritate me because here I am trying to have a baby and people forget about them like they are some object. It's not fair!

Child Dies in Overheated Car in Webster FOX 26 News
HOUSTON -- A 3-year-old Seabrook boy died after police say he was forgotten and left for more than 10 hours inside a hot car parked at business center in Webster.
A family member of the child was supposed to drop the boy off at day care but forgot the child inside the car and went directly to work, officials said.
Police said the family member arrived at work at 7:30 a.m. and didn't go back to the vehicle until 5:45 p.m. By then, the boy had already from the car's temperature, which may have exceeded 150 degrees.
"This is one of the hardest things that anyone could ever go through," Webster Police Department Capt. Thomas Claunch said. "Anyone who is a parent, grandparent, like I am, it's devastating."
The mother of the child was not at the scene, police said.
A woman who identified herself as the aunt of the child said this was an accident. However, she said she still wanted to warn parents to always look in the backseat of vehicles.

This is so sad. I have not read the article yet but was the child asleep in the backseat. I know I have a 3 years and when he is in the backseat he does not stop talking, unless he is asleep. I don't see how anyone could "Forget" a child was in the car. That is sooooo crazy

How do you "forget" about a kid??? Its not like you're leaving your purse in the car.

I agree... I don't see how anyone could forget their child in the car!! There is no excuse for this. Accident or not!! Unfortunately, a few people who have done the same thing have gotten off with barely a slap on the wrist - they've already suffered enough.... NO THEY HAVE NOT!!!!! If we as parents have become so busy and preocuppied with other things that we leave our child in the car, I think we need to seriously reprioritize!!

OMG, I don't even forget my dog in the car much less a child!!!
We get this all the time here in Laredo and luckily we have decent people who will call the cops and get the child out. Several months ago, someone even broke a car window to get a little girl out who had fallen asleep in 105 degree weather!!
This is too horrible.

I don't understand how someone can just forget that a child is in the car and it seems to be happening alot lately. Peoples minds are just so preoccupied with everything that is so unimportant. Even though it was the aunt that forgot him doesn't make it any better. I would not ever forget that my niece or nephew were in the car with me. I am just so sad for this child whose life has been lost so soon and so unnecessarily.

People like this should really think about what they are doing.........how in the h**l are you going to forget a child in the car for so long.........what did no body park by the car didn't see anything.......what.....I know I look around in other cars.....but I will not forget that two people entered the car and 1 exited.........how dumb is that....and then to especially put a kid in a carseat......and forget that you didn't take him out.......this upsets me very much because the kids are victims of what some stupid adults do......and they end up paying with their lives......he is now an angel in heaven, but his life was taken so young........

I agree.
I was searching for the article that Sil was referring to and I couldn't believe how many OTHER articles I found about other incidents like this.
UNBELIEVABLE.
All I can say is any parent that does this and has other children should have them taken away. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

How could you forget where your children are? This makes me so sick! I have three daughters 9, 5 and 4 and I know where they are all the time. I don't even let them play outside without Adult Supervision.
How could you forget to take your child to daycare on your way to work. Then get out of your car and not know your child is in there.
