I am 21 years old and live in the UK. Last year I was on holiday in the USA and met someone. We fell in love, for me not just with her but with the country too. All year we have gone back and forth as much as we can, though not that much anymore as it has proven to be too expensive. I am desperate to be there with her and I have started looking at my visa options but they are so overwhelming I don't know where to start. I am young and in love, yes but there must be a way other than marriage no? I would like to work there but I do not hold any specialized skills or qualifications. What are my options? Thank you for any help.

Hmm... I don't think you have many options besides marriage. I mean, you can file for a fiance visa, but you would have to be willing to marry. As far as just coming to work without special skills, that is unlikely. You could apply for some sort of college program and try to get a student visa. Most of the people here are doing some sort of family based immigration process, so I'm not sure how much help we will be. If you are moving toward marriage than the fiance process would be good and we can definitely help with that.

Thank you for the quick response, Laura. When one applies for a college programme is it then easier to gain residency or a working visa when the studies are completed?
Sorry for the ignorant questions both my girlfriend and I are so clueless about the whole ordeal.
Edit:
Also, if I chose to marry, is there any websites that can help me out with information? More user-friendlly that can tell me about time and costs involved? Thanks.
