I am trying to help an LPR friend to bring his wife to the US. I think I would like to help him to become a citizen as it would speed up a visa number (vs 5 years for his country - Phils). He qualifies on all grounds for US Citizenship.
My worry for him is that he was arrested twice within the last five years for CIMT's (domestics!). Nothing followed, he never went to court and he was never convicted of anything. I asked him to get any police reports and he was told they wouldn't give them to him without a "demand":nospeak:.
My worry is that he is not einstein:eyes:. I think he could be easily tricked into saying something about the cases that could be used against him. I am starting to feel he should just take the five years (he may have trouble passing civics as well).
He works for my paree, and I would like to help, not hurt him:innocent:.
Any thoughts would be welcome!
