for those of you who are familiar with my stepsons plight and all the uscis mistakes on his petition. wll lets just say that he has been approved for his permanant residency. all in all we had 5 interview notices and four cancellations. 4 of then came from the pervious petition that the lawyer had screwed up. and we had 4 cancellation notices to go with them.
here is how the interview went. the appointment was for 2:30. no one told us that they closed the doors at 2pm. i was there before my wife and stepson so i was able to get us in. about 3:00 we were called in by the official. the official was looking at the file and the information on the system. he got a very perplexed look on his face. he asked why my stepson was in the computer twice. i explained the whole ball of wax. he said that there was no reason that anyone should get screwed up that way. i did ask why we got all the notices and cancellations for the case where there was a final decision. it confused him a bit more. i told hime the second was filed because of the decision. but it had to be filed differently because of my stepsons age. he asked only a couple of questions about the original petition and the age he was when we filed. he took my employment letter and checked my wifes greencard to make sure it was valid. he apoligized for all the stuff we went through and said "i dont see anything wrong with the petition and approved the petition. there was a hold on the case on the electronic files but he approved it. he would have the block removed and complete the paperwork. we are still waiting for the "welcome to the united states letter but expect it shortly. funny thing though. we have a few friends that had to deal with the same man. we were told he was the one you dont want to see. but i found the man to be a genuine personable type of guy. he also said should there be any problems please contact him immediatly.
mission accomplished
