Hello I just got word that my papers for the national visa center had three different things wrong with it. Does this happen often? How much will this set me back?

This is actually quite common. It's referred to as an RFE but I can't remember exactly what that stands for - sorry! It's best to call NVC and talk to a person to find out exactly what the problems are with your docs. What they tell you may not match up to what they've asked for originally, but just ask the name of the person you're talking to, write down exactly what they say and then give them exactly what they tell you.

How long it sets you back depends on it takes you to correct the errors, hard to say. It's a total pain, but it's happened to a lot of us. Good luck to you!

RFE = request for evidence (I think...) :)

Hey thanks so much for the replies. I am glad to know that my papers being messed up happens to alot of us. Well not for the others, but you know what I mean. As for the wait I will not worry as soon as I receive them back I will fix it right away to stay on top of things. Thanks again!

Yes it happens to some of us.
Just send them back whatever they ask for as quickly as you can.
I our case the NVC said the birth certificate wasn't original. It was but it was 10 years old, original. They didn't like it so we got a newer one. That's all they wanted and they said just take it to the interview, they had forwarded the file to the embassy.
