Hello everyone!

My husband began working (illegally) once we were married in the U.S. We hadn't adjusted his papers yet, and he used a fake SS to work at a deli here in the states. I have to prove in my hardship letter that without his income, I will not be able to afford our apartment and car. But since he was working illegally, should I not mention anything about his income or should I mention his income to strengthen my case for the I-601?

itznenny,
From what I have read on this site, working while illegal is the norm - almost expected - and therefore it should not be an issue to refer to the need for your husbands income.
But, be very careful about ever referring to the use of a fake ss#:shh::shh:. There have been some recent newspaper link posts here by the mods (one about some problems in Hawaii specifically) that have referred to articles where there have been criminal ramifications associated with fake ID's. Don't provide excess information.
:go: good luck :go:
