Has anyone filed an I-290B Motion to Reconsider in the last 2 or so years?
If so, was it approved or denied? I filed mine here in Chicago last October and haven't heard a thing since.

Hi, I did file an appeal back in Nov. 2006, but I withdrew it Nov. 2007, because I was granted a new interview. Appeals take 18-20 months. I believe there are a few people who did get approved on there appeal after 18 months..nothing sooner. good luck.

We filed I-290b MTR in Athens in March 2006. It was turned into an appeal because Athens would not review the MTR and sent to AAO. In Dec 2006 AAO agreed to expedite. We received decision in July 2007, dismissing our appeal because the waiver was never needed. Basically an approval.
There are several other approvals on the board, but I think most were filed outside the US like ours. But I think they all end up at the AAO, so should be similar situation for you.
As christy says, AAO is saying they are taking 18-24 months now to review a 601 appeal.

we filed an in-country motion to reconsider and got approved dec., 2007...but filed in jan., 2005.
don't let the time frame from this discourage you; we've been at this since 1999 with no end in sight because everybody and their brother is screwing up in our particular case.
i'd schedule an infopass if you don't hear anything next month.
good luck to you!

I applied for a 290B in November 2007. It was accepted and I had my biometrics by January 2008. My 10 year GC was issued April 9, 2008.

Who or when do they tell you that you have to withdraw the appeal? I called Ecuador consulate to find out if I can refile. The person I was speaking to had been told I filed an appeal but didn't say that I had to withdraw the appeal, but I didn't ask specifically either. I was told I can refile but he didn't say I have to withdraw the appeal. I learned through my Senator's office that the AAO will take 2 years for a decision. I think a refile would be faster, the first try took 8 months.

Christytorres,
Did you withdraw your appeal because someone told you that you had to withdraw it in order to re-file? I thought I read some places allow the appeal to stay open even if you re-file? I believe I have reason to appeal but I also think my HSL could have been stronger.
