What's the biometrics appt and why would you have to submit DNA? My husband has been told to first appear for a medical exam, but those weren't on the list. He's applying in El Salvador and he had two children in El Salvador. Will they be checking the DNA on his children?
I have read a few posts that mention this and I haven't heard about it before.

when i was making lines for my wife's interview last january at the US embassy at El Salvador, i've heard that some people (those whose' parents were petioning them) were required DNA tests, i guess they just do it to make sure they are who they say they are. It's easy to bring a birth certificate and claim to be someone's son, especially in our countries. So don't worry, it's procedures i guess.....any expert to give an opinion?

Paige:
the DNA is used to verify son/daugther to parents relationship, since mmegan2's Husband has 2 children in El Salvador, he needs to prove that relationship. I know this because when i was at the embasy for my wife 's appoinment i spoke to some people on the line at the embassy that were attending the embassy to get a confirmation of cisa but they were waiting for the DNA results. I hope it is clear.
