Guys,

All the emails I get from Rome is that I have to wait ...until when any body can tell me ...

Sorry to hear that moe. what country are you filing from? we are filing for my husband from algeria and he has to wait for fbi check before they even send his files to rome.

just keep waiting that's all i can say. i know it's hard when you dont have any progress. we waited 8 months for police clearance from turkey and filed I-130 over 5 years ago. hang in there.

ooopps i see you're in egypt.

In order to not drive myself crazy I have vowed to:
1.not contact anyone
2. only check Rome website once a month
3.not have any hopes

I know that sounds crazy, but not expecting anything makes me worry less. I have a cow-worker who filed a waiver in june 2007 and hasn't heard anything. she makes mental notes...if he comes home in xxxxx everything will be okay. She has passed up every marker and is totally depressed. I'm in the mindset..when he comes home whenever that will be THEN everything will be okay.

It is working for me so far.
Edit:
Moe you just have to keep yourself busy. Occupy your mind with other things. DO you have friends in egypt you can spend time with regularly to take your mind off of things? immerse yourself in work or religion or whatever may be of comfort to you.

If you haven't contacted your congressman/woman you should have them involved. That is such a long time to wait.

Moe I'm so sorry to hear this. I think Momof1 is right even if its hard you need to try and occupy yourself with other things, and contacting a congressman /woman is a great idea. They can get answers a lot faster they us. Good luck

Oh do you know the congressman / woman in your area.

yes... you are at the point where you need to get your wife's elected official involved, they are WAY past the acceptable time frame of doing a background check!!!!

Thank you guys for all the feedback, but I did ask this question before, why would they do an extensive background check if the waiver was not approved . . . wishful thinking . . .
Or is it that they are waiting for the background check to be cleared and then they will look over the waiver again . . . I hope that is not the case !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

moe my husband underwent verythorough background checks during his 6year asylum trial with yearly fingerprint checks as well...as if his prints were gonna change :)

even know, they are doing background checks again even before they forward them to rome.

I don't know exactly what they are doing. just keep strong okay.

But my file went to Athens first and then it went to Rome and has been there since May 30th 2007.

Is that normal process...I just need any good news!!!
