Okay, here's the deets:

We arrived early (of course...) and met with the Attorney. She was AWESOME. Our original Attorney couldn't be there (again) and he sent one of his colleagues in his place. This lady knew everyone there and was joking around with the guards so that instantly put us at ease. What a difference to have an Attorney! So she prepped us a bit as we waited.

When they called our name and the door opened, there was the same Officer that interviewed us the first time. My heart kind of sank a bit. We started to go inside and she told us that she only wanted to talk to my hubby first. So that's when I knew that we really were going to have one of those Stokes interviews. I sat down and prepped myself for a long wait. About 15 minutes later hubby came out smiling and gave me the thumbs up sign so I knew things had gone well and it was my turn.

I walked in and she had me raise my hand and swear to tell the truth. Then I sat down and she gave me a paper to sign that hubby had already signed that said that we understood the penalties for perjury included jail time, fines etc etc. So the Attorney said "this is very standard when they expect marriage fraud". Of course that freaked me out. The Officer said that she had a list of questions that she had asked my hubby and would ask me and then compare the answers. They were:

Do you sleep in the same bedroom?
What colors are the walls?
What kind of shampoo do you use? What kind does your husband use?
Do you use birth control?
When was the last time you had sex? (last night baby :D)
Are there any pictures on the wall of your bedroom?
Draw me a diagram of your bedroom.
Who went to bed first last night? At what time?

So I answered all the questions and she seem satisfied. She was much more agreeable this time and was joking a bit with the Attorney. So then she says "you'll receive my decision in about two weeks" and I thought "OH NO! Not more waiting..." and then she said "I'm going to approve your case". :) The Attorney said "it's been a long journey" and of course I starting tearing up like a baby which made them both look like they wanted to cry.

The Attorney told me that when they first went in the Officer had said that we had provided very few documents the first time around and that they were all very recent. (mostly because I had been living with my Mom while he was in Mexico and we just didn't have much in both of our names) That coupled with the fact that he was staying with a friend during the week made her suspect something, but she didn't have time to investigate because we had arrived late. The Attorney explained everything to her and she was like "oh....oh I get it!". We basically just didn't get a good chance to explain ourselves.

I won't really believe it until we have the card in our hands, but I can't believe after two years it's finally over!!
