I have a friend who submitted an I-130 through a lawyer. She no longer wants to use the lawyer and does not have her NOA1 (Lawyer does) how can she find out the case number for the pending I-130.

Her lawyer should have sent her a copy of the NOA1.
If she no longer wishes to use their services - she should contact them - in writing, I am sure, since she probably signed a contract with them - stating her intent to discontinue services and then request her file - or atleast copies of EVERYTHING in her file. In the mean time - has she tried calling their office and requesting her case # from them? They should not have had a legitimate reason on why they could not provide that to her at least - if not a copy of the NOA.
I can see why she doesnt want to continue with them. I am assuming that a G-28 was sent along with her I130 showing the lawyer as her representative, so she should also notify USCIS of her intent to discontinue that relationship so all further correspondence will be sent to her - not the law firm. (I am guessing that there is a form for this - and I am sorry that I have just not researched it to give you the specifics)
