whats the process and likely chance of getting a parole at the border. we are expecting our 1st baby in september and i want to be there with my wife when the baby is delivered. I am a non canadian in vancouver (on valid visa) at present. I have to submit a I 601 for misrepresentation at the Vancouver consulate.

I hate to say this, but I doubt you will be able to get in (the US). You will only be allowed in once your 601 is approved. Someone will come along and post more information. Congrats on the baby!

I agree with y14. . .however, if you want to try it, it would be safer to go to the consulate and apply for some type of humanitarian parole. . .It's just really hard when you have "immigrant intent" to get in at all.

Best bet is to apply for a visa at the U.S. Consulate (since you have a foreign (non-Canadian) passport) and they will let you know if they will recommend a non-immigrant waiver. (you will need to take lots of proof that you need to return to Canada.)
