Hi, that's a good question. I have heard 4-6 months, but do not have personal experience with the wait time.
I was almost in the same situation with having to do a consular filing in Italy (Naples). What has your experience been up till this point? Do you have an attorney? Can you comment on the process so far?
Thanks,
NHF:)

Hi there,
I did not apply to Italy directly, my file was in Athens and they transfer it to Italy...not sure why, any body knows if the transfer to Italy is a good thing.
Otherwords, is going to Italy a good thing or not?

Some countries are like that. You apply at Athens and they will transfer it because your country either hv no adj. officer or could be something else. That's a good thing they send it to Italy. Otherwise, your case file would sit in Athens with no decision made.
Yours is not the only one that case file gets transfered to Italy. There's other countries that fall into Italy's adj. too.

Thanks for the quick reply, I have another question if you may, I see that your case is approved but you have 4 month and 2 weeks before your husband can come home ....why so long, since you are approved and all.

:) My I-601 was approved in Dec 2005 via Frankfurt, Germany.
My hubby, the USC, is currently deployed. Hence, the ticker clock. Keeps me sane. :)

Hi there ALL!
my name is in the list, it says my case is pending in New Delhi, and was submitted in December 14th, but I did submit on December 24th instead. The list also says it is pending. How do I check the pending status? As far as I know, New Delhi has no web upsate service. Does any one know anything, please?
Also, I heard that cases from Dhaka get sent to New Delhi, then get forwarded to Italy....makes me kind of confused. I'm already worried....
Happy Foutrth of July to ALL. Hope everybody finds happiness with family and friends, together....till death.

Hello Mahmed01,
I have changed your entry to say that you filed your waiver on 12/24/06. For what reason did you have to file the 212 waiver also? Were you deported? As far as I know New Delhi has no web update service. Currently only London and Vermont have that service. Sometimes cases get sent from one consulate to another. Usually they will notify you if that happens. It is so hard but the only thing you can do at this point is wait. Hopefully you will get good news soon. Good Luck.

PINPIG ASKED:For what reason did you have to file the 212 waiver also? Were you deported?
I was not deported. I left voluntarily, but I was supposed to leave earlier, ie, I violated a voluntery departure permission by an immigration judge. I was advised at the waiver (I-601) filling time that I need to submit an I-212, so I did.
Rome (Italy) also posts their update Online every 15 days. I saw some cases from Dhaka there, which I believe were forwarded from New Delhi.
It's very hard to know what's going on, especially, when u live in a country where IT is not easy to access.
Thanx. And good luck to us all.:)

I do know that Athens is the most difficult place in the world to get approved, next to impossible, according to Laurel Scott.
You will need at least one level 2 argument to prove hardship in Italy.

Boy, don't I wish that there were sites to check on the waivers filed in the other countries. That would be so wonderful.
I am thinking (wishful thinking probably) that other countries will follow with this helpful information.
I will definitely post as soon as I know about another country.
Glad to help in whatever way I can. Immigration is the most stressful thing I have ever done. Here's hoping that all will be reunited with their loved ones very soon.

Hey guy...
My wife just called and she just came back from the doctor’s office after having an ultrasound done…the doctor told her that she had a tumor and it needs to be removed surgically...thank God it is not cancer but the doctos said that it needs to be removed (its better if it could be emoved)...
I just wanted to be be with her during this time and do not have to wait for the stupid waiver … what can I do…I just do not know what to do….

Moeaboelela,
I am so sorry to hear this of course my thoughts are with you.
Lets discuss this...maybe you have some options and it will help you to get your ideas out....we are all here to help and support you.
would you please start this in a new thread...I think you may have some options for a medical expedite if this is the USC who needs the surgery...depending on how urgent the need for the surgery is...good possibility if we explore all the facts....you may want to do a consult with Laurel concerning the expedite or you may want to try it yourself...either way this is definitely information that needs to be added to your waiver package...just need to figure out the best way to go with it....Hoperfully other will respond if you start in a new thread...maybe call it need surgery will this qualify for expedite or something like that to get others attention.

Hi Guys,
My case shows pending on the web site (Italy), and everytime I send an email to ask about the status I get the same email saying
"As indicated in our message below, if additional information is required from the petitioner or from the qualifying relative, this office will send a separate request by mail.
We ask that you please refrain from contacting us for status checks while the application is pending.
Your cooperation will help ensure that we maintain our processing time"
How do I find out if they are missing or in need on any additional papers?

Either, but personally I think your wifes congressman or senator would get bettter results if they are willing to help you out in this matter. If not, I would contact your lawyer. I feel my lawyer did sh*t for us and that the congressman helped push our case along (JMO).
